@djrock you need to stop saying things out of thin air. When you are stating a fact mention your source. Last but not least keep your post short and to the point.

Well i m giving opportunity to new buyers to understand how BD market works, 25k investment isn't really eating candies. (Yes i observed it for last 5 months as i m also hoping to buy a New GPU .Its called market analysis(Yes its a Business Terms ,Not made by Me) .Its not about current market pricing .

You guys really should stop censoring every price advice .Its not really a Religious Text ,Nobody suffered Physically or Mentally for listening to advice of Waiting a month or two till new Product line is declared .Even Top Tech Youtubers advising not to buy product in this months before the next big Tech Seminar where New product line will be declared

    - - - Updated - - -

You deleted the comments which admin of this thread actually liked ,so that tells a lot what real buyers like to read & what general users like

get rx 480 sapphire nitro+, bought one last April and gets ultra/high [email protected] But personally I would wait for vega (next year) ~35-40K or save enough to get a 1070.

Vega is MIA... even hardcore fanboys are leaving AMD's Vega ship... recent benchmark showed that its not capable of beating gtx 1080ti as they used 2 Vega gpus and 16 core processor to run Prey at 4k where i7 7700k (4 core) + gtx 1080ti can achieve 80 + fps without loosing a sweat, AMD didn't even showed fps, the game stuttered and teared like crazy .... even AMD isn't confident about their product...

and initial Vega launch will be limited and they will only sell Frontier edition (AMD's FE) gpus for prosumer market which will be expensive (1000$ +) and will only come with reference coolers ...

Rx 480's production has stopped so getting this gpu will cause massive problems and AMD themselves launched rx 580 (consumes more power + pricer) to compete with gtx 1060....

choice in mid range depends on games the user likes to play... in some games Nvidia can swing home runs like crazy in others AMD goes for the home run, but currently most games favor Nvidia....

I m sure who ever 0.000000000005% or less buy these 1080 ti level card aren't waiting for Amd ,Vega's Main Problem is Its totally new architect & with HBM2 every driver have to be made from scratch ,Raja himself admitted that Software issue is one of the problem with Vega & Maybe reason for delay . .so yes Vega's software need more work thats why its performing poorly .Also don't think Amd actually targeted 1080 ti level card ,Most user will be happy with 1080 ,1070 level card as thats what sells more .

It is purely ur opinion... like AMD fanboys had perspective that Mainstream is where the money and market share is before polaris launch, after the launch we all know gtx 1070/1080 outsold rx 480 by a margin and gtx 1060 is on route to dethrone gtx 970 as the most popular gpu of all time... Now gtx 1080tis are selling like hot cakes, .... Nvidia's quarterly profit margin clearly proves that...

Vega is a year late even after that they couldn't optimize drivers for it when launch of FE cards is so near ... so maybe they can't do it and need another year to optimize it for games.. even for FE edition they showed 4 gpus running radeon pro render engine I bet gtx 1080ti is much faster on those tasks as well....

if u have to wait why not wait for Volta which Nvidia will release in just 6 months and will be 40 percent faster than current nvidia line up and will definitely be cheaper as they will use gddr 6 and gddr 5x

Probably that's why they haven't showed any specs either, you are correct right now AMD vega situation looks pretty bleak but just hoping it gets better at the launch time, as of this moment if you want enthusiast grade cards green team is the best team.

Rx 480 is still available in BD, not sure about other shops but startech has them in stock: http://www.startech.com.bd/index.php...&category_id=0

More games favor Nvidia I agree but if you keep buying Nvidia then the GPU competition will die. Look at what happened to CPU market, 6 year old i7-2600k is still good for gaming, where video cards have gone a long way which I would say only for this competition. And if you don't really care about these stuff and just want the best bang for your buck still rx 480 wins vs gtx 1060 in most dx12 titles and gets like 3-4% less fps in dx11 titles.

If Vega don't do well against Pascal then most probably Nvidia won't release gaming volta so soon .Still Nvidia has $1200 Titan which they can sell at $700 after 6 months .So Vega's poor performance will mean Volta gaming card will be delayed & i won't blame Nvidia .Demand for Volta isn't really there unless its $1600 enthusiast level card .Top selling high end market still around $500 & Nvidia has still 2 more Pascal card which they can slowly introduce in that($500) price range

Nvidia exhausted their whole pascal stack so Pascal is old news, they are working on volta for few years now so they definitely not going to wait and give intel a chance to strike back in the prosumer market with cheaper core heavy processors.. Thanks to Nvidia and AMD in the Cpu segment Intel is firing back with cheaper i9 processors.. (Nvidia killed their knight landing and expensive hedt cpus with p100 and Titan/Ti lineup) ..

There is a good discussion going on in r/AMD even fanboys are now admitting that Nvidia releases products to crush competition and to compete with itself ...
they now have drive and hunger for more,

unlike AMD whom are happy with rabadge /rehash / rebrands and stagnation (in gpu segment amd is rebranding same gpus for 4 years, in cpu segment they rebadged for like 5 years), after the initial Ryzen wave AMD will do the same thing for next 4 years....

unlike AMD whom are happy with rabadge /rehash / rebrands and stagnation (in gpu segment amd is rebranding same gpus for 4 years, in cpu segment they rebadged for like 5 years), after the initial Ryzen wave AMD will do the same thing for next 4 years....
    Absolutely spot on.

    7970=290X=390X=RX480=RX580.

Actually 390X is still their fastest gaming gpu. Such a shame, AMD, such a shame.

I think most people Not Getting One thing & That is what is Really Amd's Goal & How Everything Amd doing now is for Future Market Not about Current Market ,Kind of Amd losing one fight so that it can win the Next Big One .

After Almost Bankruptcy Amd had two Option left Quit or Find A Process to Proceed in Future where They will have to Invest Less & they can Earn Stable Profit from same Architect .Here comes the Invention of Infinity Fabric & From Now on Everything Amd Will Do Both in CPU & GPU Line, Will Be based on that Tech

What Infinity Fabric Doing or Will Do For Both Vega & Zen Architect is that It will Virtually Allow Amd To Increase Power of CPU & GPU without Inventing New Architect after every Few Years .

Amd Zen Architect Already Showed that From 4 Core to 64 Core Infinity Fabric Is Perfectly Scalable & Allow Amd Virtually adding one after Another CCX Without Needing for New Architect .Intel won't be able to Win this Fight & Intel Already Lost the Fight & continue Losing the Fight As long as Intel go for One Big CCX Die CPU instead of Joining Multiple CCX into one Die (Yield of Wafter will benefit Amd more ) .That is why Even After Intel Doing its best reducing i9 Pricing Still its almost double the Price of Thread ripper & Adore Tv already calculated that Intel's 5000 CPU is already slower than than Amd's next 32 thread CPU & This Intel defeat will not go away soon

I m more Interested about How Amd Implement Infinity fabric in Vega ,If Vega is scalable like Zen architect with Infinity Fabric & Amd update the Game code & Api to Use Multi thread environment of Vega compare to Nvidia's single thread envrionment then GPU market will see a Bigger shift in performance in near future .Game Developer Already know that the More GPU market will move towards 7nm & more the Die size will be bigger mean GPU market in near future will be almost out of reach for General consumer .So only way to make cheaper GPU is to use Infintity fabric like Tech to joint multiple little GPU into one Big one

I m thnking Nvidia will get a Big Surprise just Like Intel in near future from Amd & that is the Fight which can not be won just by creating bigger die GPU

wrong, 7970 is lot slower than 290x
but other comparison are correct more or less.

to other amd vs nvidia warriors- op didnt say he would wait and vega is long away from BD. i recommend op to buy 480 580 or 1060 because they wont bottleneck in many games. but in some openworld 1080p it will bottleneck somewhat
