    Post HDD for Home Surveillance

I am putting together a home surveillance system. I have narrowed down to two 4TB HDDs that fit my budget...

    Seagate ST4000VX007 4TB SATA 5900RPM 3.5" Skyhawk HDD

    Western Digital WD40PURX 4TB SATA 5400RPM 3.5" Purple HDD

Now I dont really care about the RPM / performance. I just want the best longevity here.

    Any thoughts?

Cameras? Switches? Do you have a server thats going to keep recording everything etc etc?
