    my big bro is tellin' me to get the AMD FX-6100 with Asus M5A97 EVO n'

    he's tellin' it cuz the 2500K's price has increased n' cuz FX-6100 has all it's features + better intructions
    so do u guyz think i shud go wid it? or buy a cheaper Sandy-Bridge then the 2500K?

    If you're into gaming then the AMD CPU is not legible.
    Go for I5.

    if budget permits get an i5 2500k

    if not get an i5 2400 with a p67/z68 board. With turbo multiplier notched up by 4 steps and bclk increased by 2 to 3 mhz you should be getting to ~3.9 ghz easily.

    that is enough cpu grunt for almost anybody

    it would be wonderful if amd was more competitive but sadly at this point in time they are not @WarLord

    DON'T GET A BULLDOZER.

    Get a i5 2xxx if you don't have money for 2500k.
    Or you can get a Phenom II X6.
    And I guess there'll be price reduction when Ivy/SB-E comes out.

    And what's the current market price of 2500k btw?
