If you're into gaming then the AMD CPU is not legible.
    Go for I5.

if budget permits get an i5 2500k

if not get an i5 2400 with a p67/z68 board. With turbo multiplier notched up by 4 steps and bclk increased by 2 to 3 mhz you should be getting to ~3.9 ghz easily.

that is enough cpu grunt for almost anybody

it would be wonderful if amd was more competitive but sadly at this point in time they are not @WarLord

    DON'T GET A BULLDOZER.

    Get a i5 2xxx if you don't have money for 2500k.
Or you can get a Phenom II X6.
And I guess there'll be price reduction when Ivy/SB-E comes out.

And what's the current market price of 2500k btw?
