F1 2012 announced for September release - first trailer

Codemasters has officially announced F1 2012.

In development at Codemasters Birmingham and set for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in September, F1 2012 will introduce a Young Driver Test mode as one of its new headline features, and promises "to deliver the most accessible and immersive Formula One game for fans of all abilities".

Codies says: "Players will be introduced to the world of Formula One through a range of tutorials explaining how to handle racing's most exciting and responsive cars, and challenged to earn a drive from a team for the 2012 FIA Formula One World Championship."

The game will also offer a host of "new features, wide-ranging technical and gameplay advancements and extensive competitive and co-operative multiplayer components", plus all the official teams, drivers and circuits from the 2012 season, including the debut of the F1 United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, and the return of Germany's famous Hockenheim circuit.

To mark the announcement, Codies released the following movie, which shows F1 2012 creative director Stephen Hood catching up with rising stars at the Young Driver Test to find out if their experiences with F1 games have been of benefit to their real-life race preparations.

Earlier this week Codies announced it had signed a new multi-year F1 game license. It said new offerings in the frnachise will include a previously announced free-to-play online management and racing game for PC and an all-new F1 "experience for a family audience... due this holiday season with details to be announced".

^ most boring type game. easy to watch on tv but giving like 30 laps on same track is really painful to me . may b i am not man enough to have the patience.

some like cricket some like football, and only a few like F1. BTW, its 60-70 laps depending on track.

i know. i had all the f1 games when ea used to publish it. most probably 2-3 games. 30 was my highest record for laps . my friend was crazy about f1. at that time he didnt have a good pc to play games so he used to come to my place to play the game.

i know. i had all the f1 games when ea used to publish it. most probably 2-3 games. 30 was my highest record for laps . my friend was crazy about f1. at that time he didnt have a good pc to play games so he used to come to my place to play the game.

In game, 30 laps a lot, i was talking abt real thing. i am hooked to f1, never missing a season. i at least watch the final race. Playd 2010 and 2011, cnt gv up 2010.

that's what i also mentioned. it is very nice to enjoy the thrill on tv but quite boring to play. and it is for elite class. like golf. you have to have deep understanding. my nfs hp is better. no tension about lap time or changing tyres. bump anyone who goes in front of you and crash the police!!!!!

should add some real racing cockpit like gamepod (if you want then why want less? ;-))
