Default Intel Shows Off their Prototype Ultrabook Hybrids [Video]

All the prime Windows 8 based devices are still more than half a year away, with many biggies pitching in with their own version of desktops, laptops, tablets for Windows 8 when it releases in the second half of the year.

But that’s not stopping Intel from showing us a glimpse of what to expect from the Hardware Giant when the final version goes RTM.At CeBIT 2012 Intel demonstrated their ultrabook hybrid prototype,an ultrabook with 13.3″ size sporting a capacitive touch screen powered by 1.5GHz Ivy Bridge processor, with ample connectivity ports to go with, like HDMI,USB 3.0 etc.

Though one thing was missing from the prototype was that it wasn’t running on Windows 8 but Windows 7.Intel is trying out a different design by combining touchscreen with a clamshell device, trying to introduce a new form factor with hybrid ultrabooks or convertibles.

Intel’s Dave Rogers talked about what we can expect by the end of this year, stating that OEM designs for convertibles and touch screen laptops are already “in the pipeline” and we can expect some of the devices by the end of the year as we inch closer to the Windows 8 RTM.
