    you didnt mention the amp of 12v rail.i think ur system is ok with the 400w psu.you can see here. this is for 550ti oc.and they are recommending 400-450w.you can check yourself here.i think you dont need any 500w psu right now,and no need to unplug you dvd writer.

    i think tt lp 430w is not sufficient for that gpu!

    still using my 550ti with thermaltake litepower 400w
    but now want to buy a power supply unit please... suggest me some exact models and and their price.... considering future gpu upgrade like 560 or 560ti
