    I am new in bg.i want to overclock my core i3 540 3.06 ghz.
    My system
    intel core i3 540 3.06 ghz
    4gb ddr3
    intel dh55pj mobo
    450 watt psu
    ati 5450 graphics card

    a
    i dont know anything about oc ing.so give me complete tutorial.please help.than to all of you in adcance

    Entry level Intel motherboards don't support overclocking, as far as I know.

    buy any gigabyte, asrock, asus mobo and oc to 3.9ghz at ease. Plz forget the intel trash.

    All you need is to turn up the base clock up a little and voila, you can overclock, but if you don't own an aftermarket cooler, just forget about overclocking and be happy with what you have.

    thats it? Do i need to turn dwon multiplyer? My hyper thered is on should i of it? How much time i need to run prime95 to cheak stability? Which temperature showing swoft should i trust?     Forget overclocking, without changing mobo and gettting a better cooler you wont get far anyway and besides 3ghz is plenty for your system atm. What you should think about right now is updating the GPU which is a bottleneck for your system
