    Cool Games Review Section?

Prior to buying or downloading a game, I go through a number of reviews on that game. The problem is most of those reviews are either biased or inconclusive, leaving you in a dilemma of buying the game and saving your money. So, I would like to request a section on this forum solely for writing games review. As far as I have seen, SadikMahdi, Arif69 and aniklc are good game-review writers.

    Format of writing a review:

    1. Write down its sides that you found good.

    2. Write down its sides that you found bad.

    3. Rate it on a scale of 1-10.

    4. Post some during-gameplay-screenshots of that game. (2 would suffice)

An epitome of a good game review would be this one:

    http://banglagamer.com/showthread.ph...-you-Completed.

(Note: It doesn't matter whether you write review in bangla or english. Writing a review that will help the readers reach a conclusive decision is what matters.)

Edit: Gave the wrong link! This is the link to the good game review:

So far, I've seen only Sadik vai's game review and Arif vai's game review.

@Frank3nst3in, short review on games doesn't require a blog post. As small as thread will do.

Those are more like opinions rather than game reviews. Game reviews are detailed for good reason, those are merely bullet points of what a person thought of the game. I suppose that if there was a review section then it would need full fledged reviews rather than bullet points.

There are some Bengali reviews of games, full length too but not enough of them to warrant a separate section. You can find unbiased reviews though. What are your usual sources? I frequently use psu.com, destructoid etc. I do read gamespot and ign too but I always try to support their views with gamers' reviews or else I ignore them.

Game reviews are made from opinions! o_0

Yes, they are detailed for a purpose. The problem is those who write those are reviews more of a writer than gamer. What they do is blatantly exaggerate some sides of the game, thus, simply increasing the length of the review with trivial facts. As for the size of the review, it's not necessary to write full fledged review. Small reviews will be fine with the good and bad sides mentioned in bullet points.

By the way, Amazon.com is my usual source.

Nah you need to find good reviews, just bullet points say nothing about a game. You need actual descriptions to get a feel of the game. Amazons user reviews aren't bad actually, but really depends on the user reviewing it. The big reviews there are really helpful and says a lot about the game.

A separate thread will be a good choice. We will give our own little opinion about a particular game in that thread. It will only contain one's personal feeling about a game(any game). For ex,i liked everything of FNV and i may write every good thing about it and give 9/10 in that thread. But may be someone will feel that FNV was boring and he will write what was bad in FNV in his opinion.I know there r some little threads like this but a separate sticky one will be much welcomed

By the way, Amazon.com is my usual source.
agree with u @Kevepeter vai. Those who write full length reviews they are more of a writer than a gamer. They play games very quickly than usual gamers. They use cheats or walkthroughs. But we here dont have enuf time to write a full review with so many details and screenshots(unlike @anik_lc , he is a good reviewer) thats why bullet points are important here. I also think most of us dont even read full IGN or GS reviews, we just see the last para/table where different parts are separately located.

So here reviews should be written according to this-
    1. Game Name with Cover pic(other in-game screens, if possible)
    2. The Good Parts with ratings(reviewers opinion)
    3. The Bad Parts with ratings(^^)
    4. Overall rating
    5. Which genre of fans will like it.
    6. Final opinion(not much big or short)
    hope it will help.

Agree with you on that. However, I read NFS The Run review somewhere written by one of those "reviewers". The way he praised NFS The Run, I thought the game would be more or less like the sequel to NFS Most Wanted. After playing the first few races, I was like, "WTF! It was a complete of my money."

We do not need to write long reviews. As I said earlier, short reviews will be fine. They don't have to be professional reviews either. Reviews that will help the readers reach a conclusive decision is what matters.
