    Default PC Component Upgrade Suggestion

After using the present system almost 8 years I'm going to upgrade this year. My plan is to buy following components - Processor, Motherboard and RAM. After doing some research I've found couple of combination.

    Budget (<30k)

    Combination 1:

    1. Core-i3 7100 - 10000/-
    2. MSI/ASUS/Gigabyte H110 - 6000/-
    3. 8GB DDR4 RAM - 4500/-

    Combination 2:

    1. Core i5-7400 - 16700/-
    2. MSI B250/B150 - 7800/-
    3. 8GB DDR4 RAM - 4500/-

Combination 2 almost touches the 30k range while combination 1 roughly around 20k. I won't upgrade the system soon after this. So I need durable system for coming years.

I do followings in a desktop - browsing, running engineering tools (MATLAB, Proteus, Multisim, CST Studio, HFSS, ModelSim, Xilinx, Active HDL etc.), word processing, checking linux distributions etc. I'm not a gamer anymore.

My plan is to add following components later - SSD, PSU and another RAM

Now, I need your suggestions regarding this build.

no.2 all the way it suits with your needs more compared to no.1 , i3 is kinda entertainment box and decent performer but i5 is the real deal if you want a workstation or atleast budget mainstream pc but get 7500 over 7400

    I think the 2nd one.

    CPU: 7th Gen i5-7400 @ 16,500 /- [ NO need for i5-7500 for 1k extra ]
    MoBo: any B250 @ 7,800 /- [ NOT B150 chipset ]
    RAM: 1x Corsair 8GB DDR4 2400 @ 4300 /-
    __________________________________________________
    Total: 28,600 /-

    Also:

    01. Yes, I totally agree with your plan of adding another 8GB DDR4 RAM later. Without any doubt, only 8GB RAM ain't gonna cut it in the long run, you'd need at least 16GB. When I was buying my Desktop on 2011, everyone suggested against getting 8GB RAM. I didn't listen and bought 8GB (RAM was very cheap back then). Later, I realized that I made the right choice.

    02. Still using OpenSUSE ??

    03. Which 7th Gen Core-i3 and Pentium Dual-Core models are available in Bangladesh right now ? Can anyone PLEASE enlighten me regarding this ?

Yes, some other friends also suggested me that one. I'm using Ubuntu (+Ubuntu MATE) with Windows 10 now a days.
