Thread: Why Nvidia's mid range card sells more than Amd

  1. #1

Default Why Nvidia's mid range card sells more than Amd

Considering Nvidia don't have any cheap solution like Free sync .So why People buy the mid range card which will get amputated with V sync or they will suffer from tearing ,stuttering in every games .I can understand selling of top end nvidia cards as those people can also throw $400 for Gsync monitor but for mid range buyers they are buying incomplete gaming setup thx to greedy Nvidia who just love to show middle finger to their buyers

are you sure about this? because most of the market is flooded with rx470 and 480 and amd always been strong in mid range markets

Nvidia has 75% market share ,so that tells a lot who is actually dominating every category

There is a difference between dominance in market share and dominance at certain sector. As for your concern nvidia gains much more profit than anyone on their high end gpu shares in the market and which is why they are leading but in mid gpu market nvidia have failed thousands time to amd at every aspect ratios and this is amd's fault that they are failing to deliver top notch products in their high end markets mostly on their gpu and cpu shares and we can still hope things will get change with their zen and upcoming vega series

Perception. AMD's lack of high end competition negatively affects their cheaper products. It sends a message that AMD are for cheapo builds with weak hardware. Plus Nvidia and Intel bigger companies that can advert more in places like Twitch, Gaming competitions, etc. Even in BD you can find people who is swear off anything by AMD. “ami to gaymer, ar gaymer ra to Intel ar Nvidia used kore. Intel + Nvidia ftw!”.

Only way to negate that is to make people aware about AMD and their competitiveness. Some suggest that they should get to show off their logo in a splash screen on the consoles. Plus 4-5 generation of continuous good competition. Bulldozer, R9 300 series rebrand, memory lacking R9 Fury etc. mistake abar hole, AMD had no chance.

Cause AMD doesn't have Nvidia share.

Streaming videos is so easy with nvidia. So is recording videos. Only 1-5 fps hit.

    tons of reasons.

    power consumption
    bias/brand recognition/marketing
    free games.
    driver support?
better cards- if you see 1080gtx or titan xp vs furyX, then you will think nvidia is better brand so when you are buying mid-low range you are more prone to buy nvidia.
better price/perf cards - before amd fanboys scream 'wat? better cards?' , yes nvidia is better, if you look at gtx 950 vs r9270 or r7370, or current 1050Ti. nvidia gtx960 was slower than competition but in a few games it was still faster, and it had some free games if you bought it from newegg.
even if you look at last 6 years of history nvidia was not always bad in mid range. gtx 560/460 or gtx 660 were all decent / sometimes better than competition. amd finewine technology made amd look better for gcn r9 270 280x 380x etc.

so if you say nvidia mid range cards are inferior in general then u are wrong.

about gsync/freesync... there were not many cheap freesync monitor for a long time... but for last 6months freesync monitors have been coming in so things might change a bit...
gsync/freesync factor doesn't matter much (at this moment) to consumers, because you will be surprised to hear that majority of enthusiast users(980 980ti 1080 1070 furyx 390x etc) are still running 'kinda old- non gsync freesync' 1080p or 1080px2 . and let's not even mention 970 290 etc. but yes this thing might change soon because monitor prices are falling... i guess majority of 1070 users will become 1440p users soon.

    @ @furiousTaher , what's the availability of 1440p / 4K monitors in BD right now ?

@ @Trave160 , most of the threads now-a-days are dead. No activity ..... no old BG vibe any more.

1440p you need to contact globalbd... and maybe ryans...

there was a 4k tn panel asus in BD i think it sold out... it was tn but i think the reviewers were very very pleased about it.

I would want a 1440p Gsync too. But it should nt cost more than 35000 tk. I mean, with that money, one can buy better GPUs and maintain constant 60fps to avoid microstutters, stutters and tears.

So yeah, Gsync is loosing already despite being better (So far, it seems 15 FPS on gsync will be fine since it will do 30Hz. But freesync will start to stutter or tear. Not sure though. ) but theres lot more than free sync.

By the way, tbh, fdequent driver updates actually suck. I update just for the sake of sending feedbacks. 376.xx drivers are so far more stable. 378.48 is clearly ubstable and doesnt do anything to improve much performance.

Oh by the way, know why this forum is dead?

Because everytime someone starts a thread, people here just fap fap that this thread is useless. So there's no interest to be alive in this forum.

That's not it, I mean can't we talk about a lot of other things? Like Xiaomi phones, the Nintendo Switch? Entertainment media I mean we have a subthread for movies yet nobody wants to talk there. It's all AMD and Nvidia, Nvidia and AMD this and that. 1080p, 1440p and 4K.

Nvidia has large market share cause it's obvious, look at all the advertisements. The softwares they're working on and not to mention, free games per cards. Also jumping in quickly to server computers and automobile computing. They're worth probably almost 40Bn USD

That depends if you can see the ambiguity in BG forums, there's a reason why people don't like reviving old threads. We judge a lot based on one post itself and if we find no relevancy whatsoever, we feel irritated especially for a lot of new members aside yourself.

If you have problems with said users, instead of posting your concern and ideas of what actions required, you could rather discuss it with the forum admins. They're the ones in charge for the most part, our points and posts count are indications of how long we've been here and whether we earned the entitlement of having second opinions from admins. That's how most forums work nowadays

Thx for admitting that most old users get easily irritated with new members & their new posts ,I think all this can be ended by Strict posting rules .Like any member who don't post anything related to the topic should start getting Rant strikes(maybe a button for that would be good) . .Now if complain for Any member goes above certain points about posting non related rant in any threads then that member should be first warned & then membership should be terminated .New Users are more important for Bangla gamers as new generations will ensure its existence in the future

Easily Annoyed Older generation might become a threat for the existence of this site & don't think Bangla gamer can ignore that .No user should be feeling any entitlement to any site ,people goes to public forum for that reason as they feel equally important than even the oldest member .Public site like Bangla gamer should create more friendly ,welcoming environment for new users ,if that means weed out the old pain in the ¤¤¤ always angry grandpas then thats how it should be done .

not to start old vs new member war here... but frankly speaking djrock is opening little too many threads as he is little too curious.

but about the old member issue yes there are bullies here, sadly. it's not 2010 anymore... when i joined, or even before that... ~2008~2009 BG was quite good at welcoming people because there were many awesome senior members, but they eventually stop browsing because personal lives... some of them stopped using BG because of the bullies/toxic behavior, a few of them were banned because they were bullies/they were disobeying moderators. now a days we have like 20 regular members mostly fighting amd vs nvidia war or whatever...

I think a Simple Block system can solve many of these problems,it protect the New member from Bangla gamer's senior politics. well I will spend nearly 55k with Gpu & Monitor setup most probably within a month .So people should understand that my enthusiasm level will be 100 time higher than every other member of Bangla gamer .I feel Any new buyer who come here ,easily get disappointing as Mostly bored, easily irritated people greet them & their enthusiasm bad/suspicious way. That is why I don't even come to Bangla gamer for any Regular topic .Only time i use this site is to inquiry about Bangladesh Market & Bangladeshi users
