TV and Monitor TAX is way too much. For a 25K TV, you have to pay 40K ish TAX. That's why TVs are imported disassembled then assembled in BD by Sony and others.

Totally worth it if you buy high end monitor. the tax is around 15K for 27" monitor. bangladeshi importers usually import the junks of "high end" of any peripherals. usually the price variance is not much between importing and buying in country but you will have to sacrifice the warranty.

i paid 25k tax for 27" 1440p monitor back in 2013 and may be 20K for 24" monitor back in 2012.

Monitor should be in Computer category not like TV ,even in 2015 extra tax on computer product was reduced by the bd govt .so it should be lower than the old days .

i was looking for some one who used 1440 ,as i m interested in buying one .So how 1080p,720p movie,or 130 mb tv series ,anime or youtube or webpage look like on 1440 monitor .i will buy a 24 inch 1440p monitor & how games looks .Lets say 1080p ultra vs 1440p mediam setting which one will look good .I m worried that still today there is not much content on internet which support 1440 .so every thing which isn't 1440 enhanced might look ugly on the monitor

there is no simple answer. depends on the quality of your source. if your movie is 1080p but very low bitrate then you will clearly see the poor image. the difference between 1080p and 1440p gaming is clearly visible. if you intend to buy 24" then stick with 1080p. there is no point spending extra on 1440p monitor. last but not the least buy ips monitor if possible. the color accuracy is quite distinguishable.

BTW can you eli5 me high resolution and content scaling? Some people say that even even 1080p content looks better on a 4k monitor cause somehow the dpi is so much in 4k. I mean it can't be true right?

i dont know about monitors much but chowdhury elec. and some other shops were selling 27" TVs at good prices a while back.
globalbd was selling a 27" monitor at 33k if i can remember properly.

i think both monitors and TVs should be in same category because monitors are actually better TV's... just without the sound and TV antenna/signal receiver thingy. but the vat should only be for 30" + TVs.... vat on display below 30" is ridiculous.
