Default Processor and Motherboard price drop possibility?

With the release of kaby lake processors and Z270 series motherboards, is there a possibility that the yesteryear's skylake processors and z170 mobos get a price drop soon? I haven't been keeping up with the pricing trends in BD recently. What is the usual norm?

Stock will dry up but price will not drop. Go visit any market. Unsold G41 chipset motherboards are still priced at 4-5k.

the price might only drop if amd zen (most hyped thing in internet right now) does something far-fetched and force intel to drop prices internationally then there is a chance

by the way z270 boards are dope imo and personally i wont spend a cent for old 170 boards even if they drop the price (personal opinion)

I was planning on getting a i5 6500. Given the almost negligible performance gain in the newer processors, should I wait for them ( and potentially pay a higher price ) or just go for the the 6500.
OR even wait for amd zen.

Price will not drop, even if it will be like 500 TAKA CHAR offer. Either get Skylake or wait for Zen(i5 equivalent will be released end of March)

If you planning to get a 6500 thn grab it after 1~2 weeks. Since Kaby Lake i5 is on sale for 17~17.5K, the price of 6500 will be reduced from 16.5 to 15.5K (at most). Get a (gaming)B150 micro-ATX instead of ATX to save 2~3K. DDR4 ram price is increasing slowly. Already at 4500TK(8GB) mark, within nxt month it will be 5K.

as the zen price has already been mentioned will be within 250 to 300 if your budget permits that much then i guess waiting will be worthwhile but if that doesnt then buying 7th gen or 6th gen worth that much

Don't think I will be waiting until end of march. Also I am looking at the range of 15k-16k I need 4 DDR4 slots in my mobo. Does any of the B150 boards have that?

most of them have the facilities you asked for but personal preference i would say asus gaming pro b150 is kinda better compared to the other available models in the market
