    Default Help me building a PC with 70K

    Hello everyone. I am here seeking your help again. I want to build a PC for medium to heavy gaming and I also need to run heavy software required for graphical works like 3ds Max, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator etc. My budget is around 70,000 tk. without monitor which can be slightly increased if required. What configuration should I aim for within this budget that is going to serve well for next 2 years at least? And also, what is a good UPS within reasonable price that I should use? Thanks in advance.

    * For Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, CPU clock speed is an important factor. That's why 6700K instead of 6700.
    * NZXT Source 210 has 8 HDD storage option plus good Airflow.
    * Gigabyte B150 is the cheapest 4 slot DDR4 mobo.

    i would recommend what iskander said but then i noticed he didnt mention gpu
    3dsmax and stuff.....
    and you cant even oc in b150 so stock clock difference is the advantage.

    i5 6600k 20k
    mobo z170p asus 13k
    ram 3200mhz gskill or corsair 16gb 8.5k-9k
    gtx 1060 26k-28k
    hdd and cooler as he said, 7.5k
    casing as he said
    power supply... i dont know... maybe search for antec psu? 4.5k+

    86k.

    too high even without ssd

    you could get cheaper gpu but the difference between 1060 and 1050ti is huge.

    config 2

    i5 16,5k
    mobo b150 7k
    ram 16gb 2400 7.5k or less
    gtx 1060 or cheaper gpu
    and other stuff

    ~74k without ssd
    and without those dvd drive and speaker

    The love for ssd is great but dont get it when other stuffs are more important for now as you have all the time to upgrade this things later on

    On the other hand getting 480 is wiser decision as it performing better on dx12 and vulkan titles compared to 1060 plus amd drivers are great these days

    afaik 3dsmax doesnt prefer any particular gpu brand, but autocad and many other software prefers nvidia over amd. please refrain from suggesting no gpu setups, and if possible refrain from suggesting amd.

    Refraining from your 80K+ budget on a 70k pc suggestion? Sure bro, anyway I didnt see that autocad on the description which I think my bad but you can surely replace it with zotac 1060 mini version which costs the same

What configuration should I aim for within this budget that is going to serve well for next 2 years at least? And also, what is a good UPS within reasonable price that I should use? Thanks in advance.
    I don't know much but anyway, (you might know this though) you should get a good monitor with good coverage specially in adobe rgb color space (I have 0.5% idea on what I'm talking about but something along this line) if you're interested in working with these software. I heard monitor is pretty important for graphical works.

    However, here's something that might serve your cause.

    CPU: Intel Core i5 6500 -> 16,400/= (link)
    Motherboard: MSI B150M PRO-VD -> 6,700/= (link)
    Memory: 2x 8GB Team Elite DDR4 2400 -> 6,800/= (link)
    Storage: PNY 240GB SSD -> 6,300/= (link) + 1TB Toshiba HDD -> 3,700/= (link)
    GPU: Zotac GTX 1060 6GB Mini -> 26,000/= (link)
    PSU: Antec VP450P EC -> 3,400/= (link)
    Case: Anything with Fornt Panel USB 3.0 -> 2,000/=
    UPS: Prolink/Power Guard 1200VA -> 5,000/= (link)

    Total ~ 76K

    Note: Nvidia graphics card has been suggested because I heard that CUDA Accelaration is a thing for Graphics software like 3DS Max/Adobe Suites etc. Also, I would highly suggest getting the SSD because I know you will feel the difference. And, also as a side advice, load your graphical projects from the SSD and use the HDD for backup/final saving of the project.

    Thanks for all of your suggestions; and my budget is not rigid on 70K; I can increase it a bit if setup requires it. Now, since I want a PC that can serve well for next 2 years or preferably bit more for games and software; I have few questions.

    Should I settle for i5 or i7? Should I get a motherboard suitable for overclocking? And, if I do overclock, will it need dedicated cooler?

    I want to get SSD for my new setup; should I use it for installing the operating system or for some other use like software or games that i frequently use?

    With better CPU and Mobo; total cost is around 87k or if I compensate there, it is around 75k. Is it worth the cost for the increase in performance? Should I increase the budget?

    Should I settle for i5 or i7?
    -> i5 should be enough for two years(???). However, i7 generally gives you a longer stretch. And, as Intel has announced that Tiger Lake will be its last core series, and they will be working on new x86 architecture from 2018, it is probably wiser to spend on i5 than i7 right now.

    Should I get a motherboard suitable for overclocking?
    -> Overclocking is a term of luck. Also, it introduces new points of increased price, instability & failure. On another note, Z-series motherboards by design tends to provide greater support for extension. So, it is not always a bad choice to get an "overclocking" motherboard even if you don't want to overclock at all. But, if you buy a Z-series motherboard, I would suggest you to get an ATX board with an unlocked i7.

    And, if I do overclock, will it need dedicated cooler?

    -> Unlocked cpus like 6600K/6700K does not even come with stock coolers (as far as I know, and I could be wrong). So, yes, if you do overclock you will need a dedicated cooler.

    I want to get SSD for my new setup; should I use it for installing the operating system or for some other use like software or games that i frequently use?

    -> Of course, you are going to install your OS, so you can install your frequently used software there and load from it. If you get a bigger SSD, you can load your games from it too, but that's kind of luxury rather than a necessity.

    Is it worth the cost for the increase in performance? Should I increase the budget?

    @kaziishan : So i5 it is then. I need to think about overclocking more, but I am planning to get suitable motherboard for Overclocking. And, about the bang for bucks; that much is certain; what I wanted to know is, if it's worth the cost. Meaning, is 6600k much better than 6500 to justify 4k price increase? Also, as you mentioned, if I need a dedicated cooler for 6600k, then it would cost a bit more. Is it worth it?

    I am currently using Asus VX229H monitor and I plan to use that with the new setup as well. I am planning to get the new PC by the 2nd half of January.

    Even if you don't OC, i7 k is a great choive because of high native clock rate and 8 logical cores. And since it's mainly workstation build, CPU should be the main priority anyway. But yes, buying it will eat into GPU budget.
    My probable next build: Qisan MagicForce 68 (Outemu switch) / Teamwolf Zhuque+ 87 TKL (Outemu) / Monoprice Select series full size (Outemu/Gateron) / Drevo Gramr 84 TKL (Outemu) • Logitech G102 Prodigy • Deepcool Dukase V3 / Thermaltake Versa U21 • Superlux HD 681 • Creative Sound Blaster E1 • LG 22MP68VQ • SteelSeries QcK • Generic executive chair • others TBA

    6600K is a better cpu for an increase of 4K over 6500, but if you add the cost of a decent cooler which is 3K minimum, then the added cost of a decent Z170 over the suggested B150 which is 7K minimum, totaling 14K over the current combo of B150+6500, I would have spent that money on a 6700+B150 without relying on OCing a 6600K.

    Oh! It's decent. But, you should save up for a better monitor. You know, with 10 bit color-depth and color space coverage thingy.

    Oh! It's decent. But, you should save up for a better monitor. You know, with 10 bit color-depth and color space coverage thingy.
    Hmm... 6700 is another option; thanks for the suggestions; I will check these out and try to optimize which one I should get. And, yeah, I will be using the current monitor for some time as I am happy with it. I would have targeted for a better monitor though, but it will eat up significant portion of the budget. May be I will try for one after buying the new setup.
