My very first review : Nokia n9

Hi guys, i had the chance to mingle with the Nokia N9, currently selling here in Bd as the best smartphone available from Nokia , beside Apples iPhone 4s and the Galaxy s II of Samsung.

The biggest shortcomings of meego = it has no future. There are virtually zero developers on the platform, so if you want something that was not included on the base package, you either need to code it yourself or pay someone to code it, orz.

meego is never gona be dead. meego is a updated version of Maemo5 , which in 2010 was also killed by Nokia, i use the n900 running the maemo platform, and trust me bro Maemo Meego developers are the best there is, and what adds to future support is the uber cool community of Linux mobile, just like all you awesome people in the BG community there are hundreds of hackers,xterm geek guys who love open source OS, and im sure you cant deny the possibilities of OPEN SOURCE OS.. Meego are in the hands of the maemo community now, and trust me , Meego isnt dead.

And about being biased, use it for a couple of days and you will know what i felt about this amazing hardware, its the best there is bro. GSMARENA/PHONEARENA/POCKETNOW all put this on the no1 spot also. It has the x-factor too...

Very good review but you botched it near the end. You shouldn't write stuff like:

"You cant or shouldn’t compare it with the iPhone or Galaxy S II , because the N9 makes them look like plastic toys fighting for nothing. Its an honest remark. The N9 fights on being unique and stand out of the war of APPS / ecosystems and remains as the perfect example of what a smartphone should be."

..because not only are they untrue, but they also show that you are biased towards this phone. And why shouldn't they be compared? These two phones are the top dogs in the smartphone world, the very same world the N9 is competing in, so no one should ignore them. Plastic toys? Seriously? You yourself know that's not true at all, why even write that in the first place.

Unofficial support is 'fun' and all, but there's little that you can do when the company itself don't support it anymore, and in the vast sea of current and upcoming smartphones, this matters a lot. Consumers like to know that their phone is no longer outdated, Nokia killing off support does exactly the opposite of that.

I wanted to tell the same things aayman did but in a worse manner and backed off at the last moment, sure, open source provides endless possibilities, possibilities so endless that there's no hope in hell for open source to catch up to the commercial operating systems anytime soon (generally speaking) and look, a friend of mine bought N900 and then got pissed off, the phone's capable of so much but he got so angry when half the instant messenger he uses (like mig33 or mxit) aren't available for his phone, meego is seriously somewhere "iwouldn'tgo" this mobile phone market isn't certainly big enough for the iOS and android, and anything else whether it's windows mobile or meego is bound to get crushed from the clash of the two titans.

That's what I meant bro, possibilities are extremely limited, with a pinch of sarcasm. Meego might be superior but as from the consumer's perspective, it's still a iSHOULDN'TGO.

honestly im not biased about the handset i just wanted to make my readers know that n9 sits in a different league of smartphones, creating wrong impressions were definitely not my intentions.

tell your friend he can use java apps too , i also use mig33 on my n900, you have to know the ways, and its fun top discover rather than just download apps from the store its part of the experience

While I really appreciate the in depth review on the N900, but there are some points which is really biased as pointed out by others. But the overall review is just neat & tidy like a whistle, hats off bro!

if you expect to run or install apps of 2011-12 on a 2009 handset, it isn't wise ,is it? but the n900 is capable to do that , that's why i boast about it supremacy and im not the only one who hails the n900

The N9 is a great device as i said earlier, however the train to drive it to it 's potential has abandoned it.
