    Default HDD make weird sound

My 1TB Toshiba (2+years old) suddenly makes this weird sound. The sound is inconsistent. Even when PC is in idle.

That sound(sorry for background noise) http://vocaroo.com/i/s1hCV8Iv5AN8

*** Found nothing on error scan. Plus checked with 2 new cables.

    Is my HDD dying????

    use crystal disk info

i have a question for the experts- how much is the possibility of the death of my hdd or ssd without crystal disk info not showing any warning/no hdd clicking sound? assume that i use good ups and psu so voltage/current isn't an issue.

When my green started dying crystaldiskinfo didn't show any warning, and there was no clicking sound. Initially hdsentinel also didn't show any warning but that changed quickly.

Since the drive has the C partition, are you noticing any occasional system slowdowns or stutter?

I heard the sound clip and I can't seem to make out what I am supposed to be listening for, the consistent high pitched sound? If that's your issue, then it's likely not an issue.
