    Default PC reboots randomly

    Hi,
My pc is rebooting randomly since this morning.
I'm completely clueless what might be the reason.

    I noticed first reboot yesterday.
I ignored it thinking might be some all the crashed.
But it started to happen regularly. The interval between reboots is random. And the time is decreasing. It record 4 times in last 1 hour.
I don't think it is a Windows issue cause it is happening in linux as well.
My friend's pc is running on the same line, so it is not a power line issue either.
I've tried swapping RAM modules too.

So what might be the cause? PSU? Or main board? Or anything else?
I'm in dire need of help here.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks..

    It costed 700.
The main board is a gigabyte B75 which just crossed the warranty period a couple months ago.

    The cake is a lie.

Anyway, since you have your friend's pc near you, I suggest you keep doing what you were doing, swapping components. First test without the gpu, then swap psu.

Last year I was facing a similar problem and the only way I was able to solve it was by changing the PSU. My PC randomly powered OFF as if someone pulled the cord from the PSU. Sadly I was a bit too late and those random shutdowns already damaged my GPU. After changing the PSU the problem was gone and I haven't faced any more random shutdown.

After swapping my PSU with my friend's PSU both my and his PC running fine for last 10 hours or so.
Why it isn't causing an issue in his pc?
None of these PC have discrete GPU.

Probably your PSU is causing excessive voltage ripples, and your mobo's capacitors are tired of filtering that s***. Now Your mobo got a good PSU so it's behaving nicely. And you'r friend's mobo is behaving nicely too, as it doesn't know yet how far the pain extends.

    Just a theory.

My guess is your friend's PC doesn't pull as many WATTs as your PC does. These non brand PSUs are so bad that at times even a 10W difference can cause them to malfunction. Either that, or there was an issue with the assembly which got fixed during the swap, which I believe is highly unlikely btw. I wouldn't continue to use a PC with a problematic PSU despite it appearing to be stable. Do check the +12V and +3.3V readings with Hwinfo, though these are most of the times inaccurate.

the difference shouldn't be more than 20-25W. I'm surprized this small difference can cause the issue.

or there was an issue with the assembly which got fixed during the swap, which I believe is highly unlikely btw.
I don't think that either. It was running fine. I didn't touch anything in the CPU for last one month or so.

So, I guess I'll have to look for a better PSU.

This brings me to this question, Which PSU should I go for?
My budget is.. as low as it can get. I'm saving to buy RX 460.
I don't want the RX 460 to burn cause of poor PSU either, So please suggest accordingly.

    Thanks all.
