Well if thats what you're looking for then buy the ECS 550 Ti instead, 6790 costs like 13K around. 550 Ti cost like 10K and its more power efficient.

How the freak is a GTX 550Ti power efficient when in some of the benches it can't even beat an HD 5770/6770 and consumer far more power than an HD 5770? I understand you wanna contribute to the forum, but don't give people the wrong infos please.

GTX 550Ti is at the same level of HD5770/6770, so it can't even beat them - is not correct also.
It consumes far more power - is not correct also. The TDP difference is only 8W! That is very negligible.

Don't just consider about some games benches also consider about good driver support, phsyx, price range etc. And even GTS 450 beat 5770 in some games. So there will always be exception. Plus the psu that he has use will be able to handle 550 TI. So why not 550 TI ?

It consumes far more power - is not correct also. The TDP difference is only 8W! That is very negligible.
hey abir brother, at hd resolution 550ti is 8% faster than 5770/6770. but, it is PRACTICALLY (140w-107w)= 33w more power eater than those. don't always rely on manufacturer indicated TDP. in other threads some of us was trying make this clear.... but i think u didn't notice.

@Arif69 then I dunno how a person is supposed to distinguish the difference between graphics cards if I can't compare game benchmarks! And people do exaggerate about AMD's driver support, it isn't nearly as bad as some claim it is and there're always workarounds, and yes a GTS 450 will even beat a HD7970 if the game is fine-coded for nVIDIA hardware (which is exactly the case in most instances) and PhysX is just bull, it's nothing that AMD hardware isn't capable of accelerating, it's just something nVIDIA locked at API level which worked fine on AMD hardware too (someone from israel tried it and succeeded too, the same site that currently hosts the hybrid PhysX mod) but is locked down by nVIDIA simply because of business policy, the same reason why nVIDIA turned off PhysX acceleration within the driver when an intel IGP or an AMD hardware is present, and blacklist websites that publishes harsh but true reviews about their hardware!

About TDP: nVIDIA is caught with their pants down if you take their word for the rated TDP of GTX 550Ti, it's said that it draws about a 110W but the truth is, it pulls 30W more from your power outlet, pretty good ploy to fool the ppl with PSUs like TT litepower 430W into buying this and then ending up with a totally broken system later on thanks to the power supply not being capable enough, business policy (monopoly) and profit much?

Of course I faced. Ex - Rage, SR 3,Call of Juarez The Cartel, BulletStorm etc etc. And everybody knows how ATI driver supports more. No more need to explain. I have gone through lot of ATI, Nvidia card changes. So I have a pretty good experience with both of Nvidia,ATi drier support .

Isn't that what started this, the power efficiency thingy? Trave160 said the GTX 550Ti is more power efficient, and I thought otherwise.

If you take a look at the names of the titles you mentioned, half of them (bulletstorm and rage) were the game being poorly coded at launch, bulletstorm needed an update for both nSHITTIA and ATI to work properly, I played the game with hardware from both the vendors before and after applying the patches, if anyone's to blame here it's the developer of these titles, not AMD.

You're contradicting your own statement, this whole fiasco started because of trave160 coming up with GTX 550Ti being more power efficient, and I tried to prove it isn't, sure if you've the budget and the PSU you can go for the GTX 550Ti eyes closed, and as for game benchmarks, the titles which aren't funded by nVIDIA performs pretty much the same on both AMD and nVIDIA hardwares, it's only the nSHITTIA optimized ones where a GTS 450 leads ahead of a 6850 in comparison, and atleast AMD don't need to lie about something important as power consumption to sell products or nor do they turn off hardware acceleration natively through a driver when a nSHITTIA hardware is present.

well i am a living struggler just infront of you..i can say after struggling with those stupid drivers of 4870 and 5870 from 2009-2011 i just came back to green team nd it feels great inside...

Pardon me but what're the "CAPS" for? These are Catalyst Application Profiles for multi GPU configurations, and when it comes to multi GPU both team green and team red face numerous issues, so don't pin this on AMD's drivers alone if you're coming from a multi GPU setup and have switched to a single GPU setup, but if you're basing your experience on a single GPU then I must say I find your technical experience on "CAPS" pretty hillarious as it has almost nothing do with single card configurations And I really can't quite understand now whether your frustrations were caused because of simply the hardware being pushed at it's limits and it couldn't perform to your level of expectency or was it AMD's fault for intentionally releasing crappy drivers to chase off their customers into buying nVIDIA stuff?
