Now the question is why do you want to upgrade to Windows 10? Is there something wrong with Windows 8 you are facing or just windows 10 sounds like cool stuffs to you?

Try it in a virtual machine for a couple of days, see if you like it before committing.

Windows 10 is a lot better than windows 8.1 if you consider usability. However, I still think windows 7 is the best among them all.

windows 10 is obviously great but take this things in mind that it wont let you play pirated games and some games like dota or others gets slow because of xbox synchronizations or something , windows 10 is best for some gpus and because of direct x12 support but i dont think you can find any of the facilities useful with your low end gpu and old cpu it will just give you a better ui thats it

You can disable the xbox app thing that slows down games.

All of that is incorrect. Piracy wise it's no different from Win8. And the Xbox FPS limit is fixed by disabling Game DVR function from the Xbox App.

So far the only problem I have with W10 is forced and unstable updates.

aside from a few super annoying issues i faced like the freaking "administrator account" bullshit on my own pc and microsoft edge crashing at launch etc if everything does go well, it's very nice and definitely worth the upgrade

Is there a way to disable the game dvr without having to sign in to xbox or windows 10 for that matter? I tried disabling it, but windows/xbox wants me to sign in first.

I looked around and found this reddit thread. I've done what it asked, opened powershell in admin mode, wrote the instructions, I get a few errors on screen.

What happened was the Xbox app is gone from the apps folder and the start menu. But every time i type Get-AppxPackage *xbox* I still see that those apps are installed. Will update with screen shots once I get home.

Didn't want to derail this thread, but this issue might be taken into consideration when upgrading to windows 10.

But really though, I haven't had any noticeable issues with the games I played on steam or otherwise. Witcher 3 runs around 70fps with medium settings, CS:go the usual 200 ish fps.

Also having got the anniversary update, maybe its off by default?

That I don't know. I use an Outlook email anyway so never bothered disabling it by other means.

Do you have genuine or not-really-genuine Windows?

Just upgrade to Windows 10 already. If you encounter an issue, use google to find a solution. Case closed.

Can a moderator fix the typo in the thread title? It looks ugly.

Windows 10 uI sux ¤¤¤. Direct x 8 and 7 is completely broken and thus your dx 7 and 8 games will give like 500fps, yet seem like 20 fps and thats with screen tears, stutrers and what not.

Then comes auto matic updates. Yoy can disable automatic updates but it still searches for updates tha are available which eat your bandwitdh.

Windows 10 is PoS (dont confuse PoS with Pro Evolution SOccer. POS means piece of ¤¤¤¤, even though PeS is a tually PoS).
