    Greetings,

I actually have little idea about raids, i am planning to use this configuration for my question: gigabyte z170 gaming 7 with 1000w corsair rmi gold, 2x gtx 1080 gigabyte extreme, core i7 6700k.

My question is, can i install an ssd+hdd combination l something like this

1 samsung 850 evo 250 gb on sata III express
1 muskhin reactor 1tb on sata III express

    1 samsung 950 pro m2 on a m2 slot

    a 1 tb wd blue

    finally a 5tb wd black

Will i be able to install this without any bottleneck or issues? Just to remind you guys that i will be sli ing 2 gtx 1080.

I appreciate any help I will get.

You can use as much storage as you want there wont be any problems as long as you have limited sata ports, as far I know there is no relation with bottleneck when it comes to storage devices

Yap, I use 4 SSD+HDD currently. 1 120GB Sandisk Extreme SSD, 1 500GB WD Green, 2*2TB WD Black. All are in SATA III ports. So you are using 4 SATA and 1 M2. I dont see any problem so far. And i haven't heard any bottleneck issues regarding storage. If you have enough SATA or other ports you can add HDD+SSD as much as you want.

That's a top tier motherboard, so you should face no problem. However, if you want to RAID 0 with another 950, then there should be some kind of bottleneck (probably you won't notice) on the pcie. I am not sure though. I have heard there is some technology like PLX switch or something which are implemented on these kind of top tier motherboards. It increases the count of pcie lanes on the board, but unfortunately that's out of my knowledge.

You shouldn't have any bottlenecks....they will work without issues. I use a 950 Pro M.2 as C drive, 6 x single 8TB drives and also 8 x 8TB drives in RAID 10 (LSI 9271-8i controller). No issues whatsoever.
