Default Need help buying new processor, mobo and ram

I want to build a new rig for gaming, plz suggest me the right hardware:

    1. Processor: i7 6700K or 5820K, which will be better gaming wise? Expecting 300-400 Mhz oc atleast.

    2. Mobo: recommend me a very good mobo. My budget is 10-16K, but can stretch to 20 if it is a really good one. Recommend me the one that offers best value in terms of gaming and storage (SSD) performance and connectivity, atleast with 4 usb 3 backport. B150 ba H170 diye ki K series processor overclock kora jabe easily?

    3. RAM: corsair or gskill, which one, or any other brand offers best value? Max budget 8K for 16 GB (2X8) DDR4. Koto speed er ram bhalo hobe oc korle?

    Thanks in advance.

    1. i7 6700k definitely. 5820k has more cores but at stock those cores are slower and can't be overclocked much. It's more geared towards workstation.

    2. Ctrl+F "Z170" in this page here. All are full ATX boards and offer plethora of connectivity. No, B150 and H170 can't OC.

    3. Take whatever you like. But also consider Team brand too. UCC brings them and most shops have them. OSGS also started bringing Avexir brand too.
My probable next build: Qisan MagicForce 68 (Outemu switch) / Teamwolf Zhuque+ 87 TKL (Outemu) / Monoprice Select series full size (Outemu/Gateron) / Drevo Gramr 84 TKL (Outemu) • Logitech G102 Prodigy • Deepcool Dukase V3 / Thermaltake Versa U21 • Superlux HD 681 • Creative Sound Blaster E1 • LG 22MP68VQ • SteelSeries QcK • Generic executive chair • others TBA

djrock please don't bother me. You are in my ignore list so I don't have to see literal poop.

    Cool

Hi. Buying a gaming PC? Some points to consider... you don't need a "very good" motherboard. Any Z170/X99 motherboard can OC your cpu well. As for RAM, GSkill is the best (I am using).

    1. I am using the 6700K and have no complaints... but you could go for the new 6800K broadwell-e .
    2. I have a ASUS Z170-A. It is very good and I can OC my 6700K up to 4.6 GHz stable(though I dont need to ). The only gripe I have is the low number of hdds supported . I wish I had gotten a X99.
    3. GSkill TridentZ DDR4-3200 series is excellent RAM. My 16GB Ram kit runs right off the bat on the XMP2.0 profile no issues . I am planning on getting another set.

Only 'Z' / 'X' chipped motherboards support OC. I once bought a 'H' chipped motherboard and found out it doesn't take any OCs.

A cut down board is exactly what it is; A cut down board. You skimp on the motherboard, you might regret it. I know I did.

    1. CPU: Intel Core i7 6700K - link
    2. Motherboard: MSI Z170A KRAIT Gaming - link
    3. RAM: Team Dark/Vulcan DDR4 3000MHz (White ones would look super cool with this setup) - link or link
    4. Optional: Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme (since you want to oc) - link
Any of the meme/quote I post here on this forum is a "দেশ ও দশের সম্পত্তি"... Download it, Edit it, Share it, Put Your Name on it...I will not mind as long as it is Legal and does not convey any Illegal Message...

    3. How about ripjaw v series, these are dirt cheap on Blogic:

Leaning towards cheaper Z170 boards as i dont need sli, just need a slight OC headroom. But its a gr8 mobo having that special sound system. I have to save some bucks for 1080/1070.
A good motherboard has better OC headroom (not just Sli); I'm talking about power phases and OC-ing features. I also was considering the motherboard price when I bought my rig. But Asus Z170-A was the lowest I was prepared to go. Z170-P doesn't seem like a good OC board. And m-atx boards are not a good fit for a gaming pc. I can't comment on ripjawsV ram as I never used them.

    u have a 7970 ref?

you said your purpose is gaming. can i recommend core i5 6600k instead of i7? coz in almost all games i5 slightly oc is on par with i7 slightly oc(gpu 1070gtx). i am not sure about arma 3 though i think even for arma 3 that will be the case. exception: total war series with 200000 soldiers on screen.
you gonna save 8k and use the 8k to buy ssd/ slightly better mobo/ gpu?

Yes, I do have 7970 ref. card.

Actually my sole purpose is not gaming, I do some other cpu intensive tasks too, but gaming is the top priority. I have used an i5 cpu for many days and this time i want a great i7 in my rig. thats why 6700k is my preference. And also for future proofing purpose, as i want to bear this rig (except gpu) for the next 3 years.

    3. RAM: Team Dark/Vulcan DDR4 3000MHz (White ones would look super cool with this setup) - link or link
    4. Optional: Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme (since you want to oc) - link
That mobo looks really cool to me, I might be interested, thanks for recommending. Do u really think i need a water cooler for just ~400 MHZ OC?

Actually OC capability is more influenced by silicon lottery more than the motherboard or cooler combined. And water cooler is not automatically better than a good air cooler. Although in our weather, water cooler should suit better cause they can directly channel cold air from outside the case via the rad whereas air coolers ciculate cold an hot air inside the case and get contaminated by hot air of the GPU, HDD etc.

@Sybaris Caesar bro told the real point...it all depends on the silicon lottery. I had a core i5 3450 with a Z77 Sabertooth. I could OC that "non K" cpu stable at 3.9GHz on all cores with the Frio OCK cooler. Now, I currently have a i7 4790K with Z97 Sabertooth Mark S, and I cannot even get a stable 4.2GHz OC on all cores with the same cooler.

And, I thought since you are going for a high end build, you should buy an AIO liquid cooler. OC or not OC, your PC will look awesome and be super chill.

Like any other motherboards. What's important is after-sales services. UCC regardless of @VANGUARD bhai or not provides excellent after-sales atm.
