Default Strange problem with Rockstar Games website

    Hi everybody,

i am having a strange problem with GTA V. i cant download, update or log in to social club and hence cant play GTA V anymore from my gaming pc. i can visit Rockstar games website but cant download social club or any thing related to GTA V. but from my office i can download all. rockstar customer service is currently run by monkeys so couldnt find any useful help there. so it seems something is messed up with my network which i cant figure out. all other services are working fine (steam, origin, uplay, epic etc.). so my question is

    1. what i can do to find out the reason behind "browse but cant download" from rockstar site?
    2. what i can do to make sure my internet is working perfectly?

    thanks in advance.

    Which ISP?

Try a VPN to see if it is your ISP. You can try cyberghost or totalvpn for free.

thank you for your reply. it seems the problem is with routing. i installed cyberghost and then i was able to log in to social club but i couldnt download the update as it is huge in size and speed is too slow when using vpn. my isp is a local one who used the dhakacom server but now it shows amberIT when i test the speed with speedtest.net. strange thing is i can visit rockstar website but cant download in normal way. why is that? so

what is the solution to this problem?
is there any way to know who is blocking who? i mean is it rockstar blocking my ip or is my isp blocking rockstar?

again many thanks for your help.

If your ISP uses transparent proxy caching, like link3 or smile, and set it up wrong then it might be the cause of the problem. I'ts a bit hard to verify. You'd have to download tracetcp and winpcap and run a tracetcp command to the domain for the update server and compare it to normal traceroute to see if they match. If they doesn't match then there is a proxy cache. Also, verifying it won't do much good as the only solutions are either to change the ISP or using VPN.

I think totalvpn gives 2mbps unlimited for free. You can use it to download the updates. Once upon a time I used to download 20+GB games with a 512kbps connection. I think you'd survive an update on 2mbps.
