umm it's the tax imposed by the Indian govt that is the main reason. No good complaining to Nvidia
Prices in here will go down I think. Check this link: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...-keywords=1080
Prices are $200+ higher than what nVidia announced. Same case in India which I think led to the protest.
even if u disregard the nvidia founder edition overpricing in every country... computer hardware are generally overpriced in india... probably because of taxes.... 20% to 30% more than dollar vs rupee prices...
and in BD... without taxes... LOL. that is what you need to know about the tech industry of india vs BD.
at least indians get super cheap steam games... AAA pc physical dvd(with steam code of course) at 1900$ rupee or around...

and those who are even thinking about buying crappy build quality reference FE nvidia at ridiculous prices please STAHP.... wait for vendors...
went to kolkata for work a few times and it's the same there...internet isn't really good and most places have data caps and steam isn't really that popular there, but origin is. preety much everyone aside from a few exceptions that i sold rigs to there asked about how it would run mostly EA titles like FIFA, Battlefield, NFS and non ea ones like GTA V. aside from 2 guys haven't heard a single person mention anything aside from that and well League...but god knows why you'd need a 1.5k$ pc playing league or cs lol overall bd's a lot better in almost every way. but just compared to kolkata no clue about other parts of that country.
I had a chat with a few Indian members of a FB group. Apparently they bought GTA 5 retail disk cause 1. they like their 40 mbps youtube videos and 2. retail disks are already cheap (cause region locked) so why waste bandwidth. And apparently it's true. Steam became popular for steam exclusives e.g. indie titles and Steam's regional pricing from 2015. Origin cause EA distributes exclusively via Origin. Most big publishers already sell cheap(region-locked) retail disks (except small indie titles). Just look at India's download stats in Steam. Thailand's 1.4 Petabyte, Philippines' 879 TB and even Vietnam's 301 Tb dwarfs India's meager 188 TB download of games from Steam.

Hover over the maps!
Dragon age is banned in India so they have to pirate it to play lol
if bd had cheaper games dl would increase tenfold![]()
