Question Suggest a permanent solution for server payment

Earlier this month I rented a digitalocean vps for my personal usage. The vps itself is very cheap, only takes 5$ per month. There's two way to make payments: credit card and paypal. I don't have a credit card with international currency (payoneer is not really an option since I don't do freelancing stuff...yet). For the initial payment I used paymentbd, where you send them money through bkash and they make the payment using your username and password.

So now that I went and set up my server, I'm reluctant to give it's access to complete strangers. It doesn't contain any significant personal information (yet), but there's always a chance of malicious damage like deleting the droplet I spent time setting up along with it's backups. So I'm looking for some alternative ways I can make payments. Anyone has suggestions regarding this?

Get a paypal account for yourself?

Although make sure your provider accepts payment from unverified accounts. Getting a verified paypal account will be difficult.

You can try Neteller. Better alternative than Payoneer in your case (since no periodic maintenance fee). Its prepaid MasterCard can make periodic payments. You just need to transfer the funds to your Neteller account to start making payments. No other party will have to know your login credentials: neither server nor Neteller.

You can get dual currency credit card from EBL or BRAC Bank. EBL allows $100 per year for personal purchase over their card and BRAC allows you to endorse USD to their card (passport required).

This sounds like a good option but how would I transfer the funds to Neteller account?
If I need Paypal or sth similar to do that then we are back to square one I think.

Digitalocean locks out account and asks for verification if payment is made from unverified paypal.

Thanks for the suggestion, seems promising. I'll check it out.

I think Paymentbd can be used to transfer funds to the neteller account. It'll be a bit expensive, but it's better than giving them account details.

Okay, it seems digitalocean doesn't accept prepaid or virtual or even most of the debit cards, so net+ is out. Back to square one.

Uhm... what? Are you sure? It says on their FAQ page the following:
    Code:
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal.
And net+ cards, virtual or physical, fall under the MasterCard category.

Mostly applicable to virtual cards. If you can get a credit card, get one for international purchase (passport required). I have used my dad's card for digital purchases, best exchange rate IMO.

I was browsing their community and found this: https://www.digitalocean.com/communi...pre-paid-cards

Since Net+ and even payoneer falls under prepaid cards, I don't think it's supported. Apparently abusive accounts primarily used prepaid cards, so they don't accept it anymore. Nevertheless, I posted a question in their community, if someone doesn't answer it soon I'm gonna submit a support ticket.

they locked my account even thought I added verified paypal.

Then I got vps from ramnode. very cheap and good quailty. I've two accounts with them.
I don't think they'll have problem with unverified paypal
At this stage I'm thinking of moving to a different service, but I'd hate to lose features like droplet focused interface and free snapshot backups. If this doesn't work out I'll most likely move to linode, they accept prepaid cards.
