    Default UPS battery problem

My UPS used to give backup for about 30-40 minutes now it goes of within 5 seconds. Is replacing battery a good solution? How much will it cost?

Currently using two 9AHr PC power or something branded battery, cost me about 1100BDT each, using it for about a year and half and still going strong, I can definitely recommend this and just using it properly will increase the battery life by a lot.

    Well I used to game.
You know, as long as it take to finish the current match of Dota.
    Don't play Dota anymore though.

5 minute will be enough for me now. Just as long as it takes to save my current work and shut down.

    Don't play Dota anymore though.

5 minute will be enough for me now. Just as long as it takes to save my current work and shut down.
you could play dota for 40 minutes with your 1200va ups? :O

Rahimafrooz 800VA, was able to finish a 35min LoL game entirely on battery. But I had my Core 2 Duo back then. And the UPS was new. Also played Dishonored 25+ minutes on battery before realizing the electricity was out.

Within 6 months the backup dropped down to 5 minutes of LoL.

gaming on UPS is quite expensive approach. The cost just jumps several fold if you do high end gaming (400 to 500 watt constant load). Majority of current gen offline or line interactive ups will soon burn out its' inverter if you do high end gaming on them.

gaming on SLA battery is really expensive to maintain. But flooded batteries are much better candidate in this case.

I don't. not on my Power guard 1200VA as that would cost me huge because these batteries might have 200-250 deep cycles so if you play games with it you will end those cycles pretty fast.

Nah, not 40 min. Most of the time 5-15 minute to finish.
