Default Suggest a moderately high end PC for rendering.

This PC will be strictly used for rendering purpose. (i.e. 3D Studio Max) And some gaming if possible. Maybe a i7 and GTX980? Please suggest a full PC configuration. Also suggest a very good, accurate monitor. (if such monitors are available) Budget is not exactly fixed but don't want to spend on unnecessary things either. So, yeah, please help me on this. Thanks. (P.S - Posting this on behalf of a friend)

Budget isn't fixed. 1 lacs to 1.5 lacs or even more if its worth spending. Btw Binary logic sells Quadro K2200 for 50k. Is it worth getting over the 980?

    For around 1.5lakh taka budget.

    Components with approximate price.

    CPU : Core i7 6700 -- 25k
    CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 -- 3k
    Mobo: MSI B150 Gaming M3 -- 10k
    RAM: 8GB + 8GB Gskill 2133MHz DDR4 --7.4k
    SSD: Samsung 850EVO --9.5k
    HDD: Toshiba 2TB SATA3.0 7200rpm -- 5.7k
    PSU: TT Toughpower 750W Gold -- 10k
    GPU: Zotac/MSI 980Ti -- 65k/68k
CASE: Something from Somewhere, maybe -- 6k

    Total: around 145k.

Now I could have gone with k series processor and an over-clockable board with additional 9k, maybe a Z170A KRAIT from MSI with a i7 6700k but that will need a better cooler with additional 3-4k I assume. So going with that might cost around 157k. If it was for gaming I would have said doesn't matter K or not but in situation where stability is important it is not a good idea to OC that much.

Besides many application this days runs completely of off CUDA, like the Lumion that I have used, so 980Ti should be better choice there or here is a crazy idea, if he runs something that needs just the CUDA acceleration, he can go with the Titan-X although the difference between 980Ti and Titan X is not that pronounced.

But if CPU based rendering is also a consideration I would have said get a 5820K + X99-V03 board but those boards are costly and 5820k to be honest is not that different from a quad core i7 either. so the high price that you have to pay for it, might not return you anything.

For monitor: Get an Asus MS229H/239H. 14k/22k.

But those extra cores won't be much helpful if the rendering software refuses to use them.

I know 3DSMax will work with it in DirectX mode. But I also know a bunch of softwares that doesn't and refuses to use GPU for any computing.
