Thread: Windows Tablet or Laptop?

    Default Windows Tablet or Laptop?

I have a budget of about 35K. I intend to spend it on a Windows tablet, the Teclast X16 Power (http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/p...UxUaAt5p8P8HAQ). This is for official purpose, not gaming or anything of that sort. I work on my desktop but it lacks portability. I work mainly on Microsoft Excel, Google Drive, Skype and basic windows software. Now a friend of mine insisted that I get a laptop instead of this tablet. The tablet I mentioned here comes with a docking keyboard(separate purchase) and 8gb ram which seems an impossible option for a laptop within my budget, but then again laptops are more durable than Chinese tablets(that too according to my friend). So I am in two minds whether I should buy this tablet or get a regular 10inch netbook. Any lights on this is gladly appreciated.

The tablet seems great and should be able to get your daily work done. You won't be able to multitask with loads of background apps though. Video editing is out of question .

But take it if you want the comfort and convenience of a touch interface.

I'm not sure about the brand though :S

Don't buy cheap chinese products and don't judge them by specs, on the outside this tab looks great
    http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00X...ilpage_o07_s00

But after using for some days, i had a lot of issues that bad that i just have to throw that crap away, even the 5500 mah battery won't last long and there is a huge issue with wifi

And i bought that from amazon canada, which is pretty reliable, and even it had those chineses craps all over the place.

Don't buy cheap chinese products like me and waste your money, go buy a decent laptop or tablet from reputable brands instead

Oh i just noticed it teclast, my dad had one from his chinese friend and it didn't last that long, and was really crappy.

Thank you very much for the feedback.Since the best option now is to buy a laptop, can you suggest a decent laptop within 40K(max). I am focusing mainly on battery backup and light weight is a must.

BD te available na but there are people/groups that can import them for you. Check out the following groups in facebook
    1. https://www.facebook.com/groups/chinesebrandmobileshop/
    2. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1511233172470754/

They are reliable and bring almost all models/brands of chinese devices. The second group brings computer hardware as well, that includes GPUs of Galax(HOF series).

Depends on your need. 8 GB RAM is not all that good on an Atom processor. So if you want a tablet(for casual browsing, movies, touch games and portability) you're better off with branded 2-in-1s with less RAM.

However, if you need moderate work that involves typing like MS office, programming or performance related stuff like games you're better off with a full laptop.

^ Don't know your budget but this might be worth a look:
    http://www.ryanscomputers.com/Asus-Transfo-6554

4gb of ram should be more then enough. Though the reviews claim that this is kinda heavy for prolonged tablet use. If it's over your budget then i guess it'd be wiser to just get a regular notebook.
