Default A questions about split air conditioners

Hey guys I have a Walton and a Gree split air conditioners at home. Both are 1 ton each. They haven't been used since November 2015 when the heat started to decrease. Now it's been over 3 months. I was wondering if there is anything I have to do before starting to use them again regularly? Like someone told me I should let them run for 2-3 hours by itself while not being in the room and after that I should use regularly. I read through the manual but didn't see any instructions like that. I searched on google but didn't find anything relevant.

I was wondering if any of you guys know about this or anything else about running them after months gap.

    You got a Crappy advice.

Anyway, If either of the units older than 1 year just service them by professionals.

What you probably have to do is clean the filters, doable by yourself if you know how to -- or otherwise contact professionals like minitt suggested.
