Default Using a mini CD (3 inch) with Sony power media dock that came with vaio Z227GG

My dad bought a laptop, the sony vaio Z227 laptop from Dubai last month & it does not have a internal Optical drive. Instead, it has a external device called the power media dock, which has a Radeon 6650 gpu, a blu-ray drive with burner etc with it. But the problem is, as this thing does not have any tray like the usual DVD/BR drives, you have to push the cd/dvd in the slit & it takes the disk inside. That is all right for the normal 5" cd/dvds, but the problem was faced when dad tried to put a mini CD (3"-the small driver/other cd that we sometimes see) in that drive, as it does not take it up. Is there any solve to this????
    I'm talking about this device--

The type of the optical drive is called slot-loading drive, you could google a bit on how to use a mini disk with a slot-loading drive, or check the manual that came with it. Afaik, some specific slot-loading drives accept mini-disks and some might even get damaged when a mini-disk is inserted.

    +1 to Dee.

safe bet. do not try using that kind of cds in that drive. i have seen some problems with those. also if the cd is accepted properly it will not come out at all.

    so leave it
