Default BFC and several other stores getting deomolished.

So today i had to go to AR plaza to meet someone and on the way saw that entire are is in preety much chaos there were bulldozers taking out a whole bunch of department stores in the sobhanbagh area and there's even talk of bulldozing the tehari ghar there. and upfront bfc is already closed and chilis will get the same fate..now this was really shocking since i had no idea something like this was going on before going to see there today.

can anyone please explain what's going on and why everything's getting demolished? i asked one of the guys that were demolishing it and he just said "it's a residential area so all non residential buildings will be removed" like seriously wtf if it's a residential area how has so many stores stayed there without a worry for over 10 years?

Without going into in-depth details, it's all political. Once or twice in an elected government's (however vague the term is today) time they somehow get the incessant knack of uprooting various businesses/private properties that take hold of public property illegally. They include the aforementioned businesses, various small properties taking up foot-path or road space, slums, construction that was not originally sent to RAJUC for approval hence illegal extensions of buildings etc. These adventures are abrupt, infrequent, without any supervision of post-demolition debris, public safety nor prior notice that is needed to evacuate these places. And you can be sure these so-called raids will not affect the businesses. An underground restaurant here in Green Road was demolished at least 3 times in my knowledge during various governments this decade. It came to business everytime retaining the same name
My probable next build: Qisan MagicForce 68 (Outemu switch) / Teamwolf Zhuque+ 87 TKL (Outemu) / Monoprice Select series full size (Outemu/Gateron) / Drevo Gramr 84 TKL (Outemu) • Logitech G102 Prodigy • Deepcool Dukase V3 / Thermaltake Versa U21 • Superlux HD 681 • Creative Sound Blaster E1 • LG 22MP68VQ • SteelSeries QcK • Generic executive chair • others TBA

djrock please don't bother me. You are in my ignore list so I don't have to see literal poop.

Don't know much about the incident but most probably all of those stores were illegal because the owner of those stores didn't even bother to take permission from Rajuk before building them. Rajuk is a pathetic organization filled with crooks who can do anything for money but every now and then they actually try to do things which are somewhat beneficial for the citizens.

Same all over Dhaka. They're cleaning out illegal shops and stuff in Uttara too. And cutting up all the roads and pathways in the name of repairs. Why suddenly at this time I wonder though.

Actually there is official KFC franchise in BD. Recently it was all over the internet that it wasn't, but that's proven wrong. First of some people emailed and confirmed, and also KFC released a confirmation letter from Yum! Brands , which is the owner of KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell which said that KFC was an official franchise. Also recently Yum! Brands recently made a FB post congratulating Transcom Foods for the KFC franchise who won some kind of Brand award or something in India (didn't read properly). This shows that Yum! Brands recognizes Transcom Foods as an official Franchise Partner of KFC.

So yeah, even though KFC service might have degraded it still remains as an official franchise in BD.

i don't think so.i see no pure/direct indication in your post that proves KFC franchise is original one.In your post i find almost u r pointing this or that.i mean no offense to u.but, unless anyone shows me official certification from original KFC.i will believe KFC is fake whether i get that statement from internet hoax or anything.& this is BD for god's sake.where there is high level of "bhejal" everywhere.it's very unlikely there will be a proper validation.
& just to make a point.u said in ur statement that KFC's quality has been degraded. Why on earth an international brand company want to loose loyal customer by serving poor quality food.is that worth the risk doing so?

Well, in my last point I told that Yum! Brands posted about KFC Bangladesh which shows that they do recognize Transcom as the official Franchise Partner of KFC in BD. You can look it up on their FB page if your want. Yum! Brands owns KFC, so them saying that Transcom Foods own franchises of KFC should tell you that the KFC in BD is a genuine franchise of the original KFC. The post was made by Yum! Brands which is situated in USA, so the "bhejal" of BD doesn't apply (I think). Let's forget about the letter posted by BD KFC, or the users who posted pics of their email to KFC, the last point was directly from the real KFC owners.

Also about the degrade part, I said that because they were fined last year, and many (on the internet and also my friends say) don't like it anymore. I haven't been to KFC that much recently to judge how good were they but as far as I remember I wan't disappointed or anything, they were fine. But I do get very annoyed that we don't have many menu items which many KFC's around the world do serve.

Also, from my research I as far as I understand, Bangladeshi KFC is actually a franchise of Indian Yum! Brands, which is a subsidiary of US (or Global) Yum! Brands Inc. In the post (also on FB, but link is Twitter) Yum! Brands recognizes KFC India, but if you follow the link you can read the article and see the details that it's actually KFC Bangladesh. The article says :
Transcom Foods, which is the franchisee of Yum! Restaurants India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands Inc, also runs the Pizza Hut brand in Bangladesh.

So yeah we actually have a franchise of Indian KFC, which is a subsidiary of the original KFC. I don't care if you believe or not, but from what I know (with some proof) KFC in BD is a genuine Franchise.

P.S. Sorry for long post if you are bothered by it.
