Default Nvidia 9 series Card on PCIE

I am going to buy a Nvidia 9600 GT card, but my mobo is, Intel DG31PR, which is PCIE only, but Nvidia 9 Series Cards are PCIE 2.0 Supported, so my question is there any decent motherboard which have PCIE 2.0 slots, or how far the performance will be reduced if I use it on DG31PR?

    Please help.

PCI-E 2.0 gives exactly doubles the theoretical bandwidth of the PCI-E lane, hence you get double the bandwidth at x8, x16, x32 etc when compared to PCI-E 1.1

however, a 9600GT will not even saturate a x8 PCI-E 1.1 slot, so you have no worries about speed deteriorating without PCI-E 2.0. only when dual GPU solutions are considered will the PCI-E spec matter

btw, you might want to wait since ive been hearing that the 4850 will be available in the market very soon for around 16k, so it would be a better deal for a bit more money. i would not say the 9600GT sucks since it performs close to the 8800GT, its just that it isnt that cheap. it would be more helpful if youd say how much youre getting it for

UCC is offering 13800.00 BDT for their xXx Alpha Edition (512 MB) & 12800.00 BDT for Standard Editions (512 MB). It might not that much powerful Graphics Card as Rupel & Aayman said, but I saw the performance report, it really perform close to 8800 GT, which price is 17000.00 BDT (Gigabyte's Zalman Cooling Edition) & 20000.00 BDT (XFX, I do not know the model number). So I think for 13800.00 BDT, this is good choice to buy.

Thank you Mazhar, for confirming me about the PCIE 1.1 slots.

get the normal version for 12.8k, dont bother with the xxx alpha since its simply an overclocked version of the regular card, which you can do yourself

even if you dont, its not that big a boost. trust me

Thanks for your opinion, I really value your opinion, but it is little psychological issue that I have the OC version. Actually I am planning to ask Sarwar Bhai of UCC to sell me the xXx Card on Standard's Price, otherwise I will go for the Standard one, as you said.

PCI EXpress 1.1 and PCI EXpress 2.0 are closely same but if you wait till eid you can get HD 4850 for 15k-16k which is a big leap ahead from 9600gt ,8800gt whatever

they differ greatly with PCI-E lane performance(i explained the differences previously), but performance differences with current generation cards (except X2) dont vary much

and yes, waiting would do the trick, but many people dont like waiting
