Would that laptop last long? Of course I would take care of it properly and possibly use a notebook cooler. Don't plan on putting it under much load, other than dota 2.

using my ACER for 5 years :3
My Aspire One is still running...using it since early 2011 I guess...not a single problem so far...
My baba's old acer lasted for about 7/8 years. He had been using it since 2007/2008 IIRC. Only recently it won't power on anymore and he got another laptop anyway.
Acer laptops are not bad.I have good experience with acer laptops. But any laptop with discrete GPU are short lived. Most of them had issues within 2nd year.
So its hard to tell that laptop going to last for 3/4 years.
If you are lucky then the laptop might run for 3 year or more(imo).
Good luck

hmm good point. Laptop with discrete gpu will have higher system temp compared to laptop with cpu built in gpu. So higher temp will obviously affect other components of the motherboard which means shorter lifespan. Also if long durability is a concern then its best to avoid ultra thin laptops. @This-Random-Person

I had an HP pavilion dm4 (probably). Spec was 2nd gen core i5 with AMD dgpu. As @minitt said, the temp was not so optimum. I had to use cooler for simple tasks like writing on MS Word. RMA(twice, back to back) experience was horrible/horrific/ho.nu.lu.lu. so I myself had to fix the pos. The dgpu was toast and it was causing the high temp. The only game that was ever played on that laptop is FIFA 13 (even the igpu still can play the game easily). The laptop's still functional as a normal laptop but the hassle was great.
P.S. The laptop is not my own product. I still use the aspire one.

OK soz for the really really late reply, but every Acer laptop lasted long in the OLD DAYS. I have an Acer travelmate that was bought in 2006, and it's 2016 now, so it's been going on for 10 years. Ioonly made this post because I saw some comments on sites like amazon that said Acer laptops have poor build quality. One guy's laptop lasted only 3 months, sorta feel sorry for him.
