After a strong history of support from AMD, Square Enix appears to have partnered with NVIDIA in marketing their 970 and 980 graphics cards by providing a free PC copy of Rise of the Tomb Raider for every purchase of a 900 series card.
This is an exceptionally odd deal, given that Rise of the Tomb Raider uses AMD’s TressFX 3.0 software, which renders hair, fur, and grass in games. NVIDIA is yet to mention whether or not their competing alternative–which is GameWorks software–will be featured in the future.
The cards that will be bundled with the game are the GTX 970, GTX 980, GTX 980Ti, as well as notebooks that contain the GTX 970M, and GTX 980M.
Even Laura is going out with Nvidia.
