Successful overclocks are being preformed on non-K skylake processors and single core performance are somewhat surpassing stock i7(even some K-series). News is the overclocking capabilities of these non-K processors are blocked by the BIOS, so a simple bios update could make the cpus overclockable.
So far, ASRock motherboards are going to get a confirmed BIOS update for enabling non-K oc. And, Asus might release updated BIOS/new motherboard lines featuring H, B and Z series which will support non-K overclocking(But, not confirmed yet).
