    Angry $349.99 = 35500 taka??!!!!! Ryans = Rip off?

    Hi people!

I'm planning to buy a GPU for my new rig. So I went over Ryans Computer's website searching for a decent GPU and found Asus Strix GeForce GTX 970 DC2OC.

Newegg is selling this beast for $349.99 now. $344.99 = 26854 taka as of today's exchange rate.
Ryans is selling the same damn GPU for 35,500 taka. I mean WTF!!!!???? Its a bloody ripoff!!

Can anybody here suggest what should I do now? I have 28k budget for GPU. Can I find it somewhere else in BD for a cheaper price? or, does newegg ship to Bangladesh?

Help me guys! I'm stuck here!

IMO comparing BD prices with US prices is nonsensical.

Its a large price difference man. 2k-3k can be acceptable, but straight 9k for a single GPU? I'd rather be nonsense. :/

What if you calculate again with 25% import tax and then added the 2k-3k acceptable profit? If you'd have ever dealt with BD customs then you wouldn't be complaining here.

AFAIK, import tax is no way 25%. Moreover I heard govt has made all computer product imports tax-free.

If there's 25% import tax, how come it does not impact HDD, router, really-low-end CPU prices?

I knew you'd be asking exactly that. To answer this, can you explain the price difference between 23inch and 27inch monitors in BD? Hint: not all computer products are import tax-free.

And also, BD customs have something called a high-value charge. In short, they doubled the duty for an item I brought only because it's value was more than 300$.

I've never personally dealt with the customs. If what you're saying is true, then the real culprit here is customs. :/

What if we simply just tell them a made up price? They can't really distinguish between a r9 fury and r7 250, can they?

Why not get the Gigabyte G1 GTX 970 from Smart for 30K? Asus GTX 970 are from Global Brand, if you have a bone to pick go at them not Ryans. Ryan are resellers

All BD importers sell gpu at 100tk/dollar rate, and ryans is not even an importer, they are a reseller.

Vanguard can clarify, although he used to sell it at 30k. Smart's price is 32k, the expensive one are better versions of the same card
