Galaxy Y has better cpu, more ppi and latest Android OS ver out of the box.
galaxy pop can be updated to the latest to gingerbread....

dont get into this trap of 16M and 256k!my sony ericsson xperia has 65k color but its a million times better than 5233
u should go for the galaxy Y
better hardware:the cpu is 2/3 times stronger than the one in 5233,more ram as well.
OS:5233 has a crappy old symbian os,whereas u get android 2.3.5 with the galaxy Y straight from the box.

hmm....crappy, archaic worthless symbian of Nokia? or the future of mobile OSs, android? The choice is quite obvious, don't you think?
Galaxy Y ofcourse, but one letdown is 320x240 res display which will limit the available apps.
I think within 15k, LG Optimus one or SE Xperia x8 will be a good option, those are better then Galaxy Y.

nope apps wont be limited,android apps usually run on phones with all sorts of resolution.

I meant will have some issues, devs usually have to optimize for such low res, thatz what i read abt somewhere i cant remember.

ok i would like to earn you here. buy galaxy y but a month later if possible. i bought one 2 weeks ago. then 5 days later i got a problem like no display on lcd. the home screen doesn't appear but when there are incoming calls the screen appears again.
this happened after i switched off my cell for the first time after buying it. the shop which is smart tech, gulshan told me that buying after a month would be more logical since some tunings are going on to improve the phone's performance.
Galaxy Y is more better than Nokia 5233.
