    Default Speakers to go along with HDTV

    Hello there folks. I'm getting a 40incher LEDTV next month and I want to buy a decent set of speakers to go along with it. I'll mainly use my pc with it via HDMI. I don't need a home-theatre quality setup. Any good 2.1/5.1 or even 2.0 tower speakers will do the job. Our living room is spacious enough to accomodate a 5.1 setup though I think that wouldn't make much sense (I don't have a dedicated sound card for that matter). My budget is around 20k. Suggest me some good speakers. Thanks in advance.

    20k? Increase a bit more and get the Logitech Z5500

    Though, with your built-in card, that's a big waste. Maybe think of compromising a bit on the speaker and getting a good card in the process?

    Mentioning @Banglavai @proton_chain & @Extreme Noob. I guess they can give you better suggestion than me as they are more into audio hardware IMO you should get a decent sound card first.

    I do have a plan to get a soundcard later (Auzentech X-Fi Forte from abroad) but for now I need a decent set of speakers. That Z5500 is way out of my budget. Any helpful suggestions within 20k would be much appreciated =)

    @Xero-Fatal1ty bro If you go for a 2:1 then go for Altec Lansing MX-6021.It's really a very good speaker for 2:1 range.Sound quality is awesome. @Extreme Noob bro can tell you about it's sound quality.May be 12-13k (+-1) price hobe etar.

    R jodi 5:1 er iccha thake tahole takar amount ta barale valo hoy. @Hemlock vai er Gigaworks G500 silo as far as i know.That will be a solid purchase.Though don't know about it's price but will be around 30k or more.Also Logitech Z5500 is Awesome but that will cost you more.

    if your living room is medium in size and if you are happy with a 2:1 system.You should go for the MX-6021 and buy a decent sound card with the rest of the money.

    I'm into headphones too than speakers I would've recommended the Logitech Z5500, I thought they would be around 25K.

    Haha thanks for the mention but I have no clue about BD availability really.

    About the Z-5500 suggested, while they are great with deep rumbling bass, their mids are recessed and slightly lacking in detail hence in terms of I dont really rate their quality in the same plane as, among the common desktop PC speakers, the MX6021, Gigaworks T1, Corsair SP2500, Solo 6C, ProMedia 2.1 etc but it does depend on what you are listening to. If you have to choose between them, its really upto your preferences as theres no clear winner as they excel in different areas of the sound spectrum but you wont really go wrong with either one. However, really try to get a sound card, even an Audigy 2 will be far better than any integrated sound card. Try to get any Xonar or X-Fi though.

    If you can get it from abroad, you have many more options which are better in that price range like the Monitor Audio RB1, Avant 902i, XTZ 93 WMT or something like that, but you will need an amp.

    @Xero-Fatal1ty
    Go for Creative Gigaworks T3 2.1 setup for 16k & Creative X-fi Titanium Audio card for 6.9k. You will get both of them at Flora Limited. I can guarantee u won't regret spending that extra 3k. That will definitely be a solid sound system which can go along with your HDTV..

    As suggested already, you 'll have to settle for stereo computer speaker systems within that budget, and if you have the option to get from overseas and if you can extend the budget a litl settle for an denon receiver(avr-1611 for instance) + 2.0 bookshelf/towers (there are many out there, ill only suggest some if your willing to extend) or after the extension if your budget permits and you 're desperate to go 5.1, some Energy Take Classics or may be Boston Acoustics CS2310.

    I'm telling you about the Receiver+speakers thing because that would be ideal to go with the TV when it is used as a TV, i mean say, you want to use the entire setup with a console/player or for watching cable TV. Having an amp/receiver will allow you more control and tweaking over the sound when there is no sound card to rely on, for example when you don 't plan to use the TV with the PC. In such scenarios, the sound is usually very muddy/flat/bloated or something that collides with your listening taste and having a receiver will let you colour the spectrum to suite your taste. PC speakers will have bass and treble adjustment knobs at best.

    Thanks for the overwhelming responses lads. I'd not be able to get the speakers from overseas this time so I guess I'll have to settle down with the choices I have here in BD. Between the Expressionist and the Gigaworks, which one is better suited for music? (P.S. I prefer natural sound. Not too processed or boomy type bass)
