Apparently Xiaomi phones are not that bad, couple of my friends and acquaintances are using these phones and haven't heard any complain except for the battery life of Redmi Note 2 and the initial pain of installing google playstore on these devices. They all have good performance and build quality is decent too, on their price point it is really hard to compete with them really.

Xiaomi is complete bullcrap . I am currently using the MI4 and it's very bad. No lollipop update for this phone while lower tier phones like mi4i have lollipop. Phone gets hot easily while playing games. The heat is unbearable. Getting this chinese crap was one of the worst decisions of my life. Never buying Xiaomi again.

Xiaomi makes decent devices. Their build quality is also pretty good. It is really quite a good brand. Just because it is based in China doesn't mean it is bad.

seems like you got a retarded phone, sad isn't it? Btw Mi4 comes with a 801 SoC it shouldn't get unbearable hot I mean their Helio X10 doesn't get that hot.

My mom's HTC one M8 has the same chipset and doesn't get unbearably hot like the mi4 . Chinese phones are cheap because they have ¤¤¤¤ build quality.

hmm, but the x10 on redmi note 2 should not heat cause the soc is very efficient. i think its rom related problem, did your friend flashed a stable or dev rom from miui forum, cause i heard xiaomi phones come with a bloated rom flashed by reseller.

Actually I know three different guys using it and one of them has installed the CM I believe and other two are just using what was on the phone and yes the MIUI is not that great but they are kinda running flawless.

when there is official cyanogenmod 12.1 then why dont you try that. i guess your experiance with the phone will change and other than the heating issue did you face any reliability issue.
here is the link for CM 12.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-4...1-mi4-t3165625
flash this rom and give us your opinion

none of them have heating issue, even while playing games for hours, the only complain is about the battery life which is okay because a MTK 8 core processor, a 5.5" display is powered via only a 3060mAh battery so expected.

Currently using redmi note 2 prime. Everything is great except the battery. Battery is average but it supports fast charge. Also the charger they gives is a fast charger. So it won't be a big deal.

Problem with google playstore & other google services can be fixed with international Stable Rom installation.
