    Post System Shock Reboot

    Publisher: Fast Company
    Developer: Night Dive Studios
    Platform: PC
    Genre: Action-Survival

The System Shock games, and the second in particular, are considered some of the greatest games of all times. The early precursors to the BioShock series blended intense atmosphere with horrifying scares to great effect. The only problem is, they’ve aged visually. Not in the manner of a fine wine; more like a rotten bunch of grapes.

You may remember Night Dive Studios worked on remasters of both System Shock games, giving them a touch up and ensuring they work on modern systems. Now, however, it looks as if it’s going one step further and planning a full blown remake of the original System Shock, with plans to launch on PC and console.

According to reports, Night Dive Studios has quite the full rights to the System Shock shock franchise, with the aim of developing a remake which goes well beyond what it achieved with the remasters. They’re working with Robert Waters, System Shock’s original concept artist, to re-imagine the game from the ground up.
