Default Star Wars : the old Republic

Star Wars: The Old Republic, abbreviated as TOR or SWTOR, is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game based in the Star Warsuniverse. Developed by BioWare Austin and a supplemental team at BioWare Edmonton, the game was first announced on October 21, 2008, at an invitation-only press event.[6] The video game was released for the Microsoft Windowsplatform on December 20, 2011 in North America and Europe.Early access to the game began one week before release, on December 13, 2011, for those who had pre-ordered the game online; access opened in "waves" based on pre-order date.At a development cost rumored to be over $135 million, The Old Republic may be the most expensive video game ever created

uff ar copy paste korte parlam na. anik net thike kisu info eikhane add kore diyo pls. ami obak hoilam bg te ato so called bioware fan ar keo swtor niya ekta thread khule nai. sad. but the w8 is over. swtor is realesed and reciving very good response from players. will it be as good as wow ? well lets w8 a coupld of year then we can judge a lil , but for the time being it looks like a awsome mmorpg. i heard the servers are allready overloading with people. the eu site of swtor has allready posponding selling the game. cause the server load is too high. but im sure bioware and ea will pop up some more servers too deal the issue. and when people are distributed nicely to the servers it will be all ok. overall this is definitely going to be one of the biggest game in the passing years.

Star Wars: The Old Republic sales could already be 1.5M - Analyst
Cowen & Company's Doug Creutz estimates substantial preorders based on capacity of EA's 140 MMO servers.

Star Wars: The Old Republic can't be bought in stores until tomorrow, but already Electronic Arts is having a hard time keeping up with demand. Just how big is that demand? According to Cowen & Company analyst Doug Creutz, between 1 million and 1.5 million players are already jockeying for position in The Old Republic's servers.

Don't let these city streets fool you. Star Wars: The Old Republic is packed.

Creutz's estimate is based on the fact that EA now has 140 Old Republic servers online, with 77 handling US players and 63 for Europe. That figure is significantly up from the 106 servers The Old Republic had online as of Wednesday, one day after EA began inviting preorder customers into the game.

Of those 140 servers, Creutz said that at the time of his checks, 54 were labeled as full, 23 were in a state of very heavy use, 41 came in at heavy, 20 were standard, and two were light.

By contrast, Blizzard Entertainment's World of Warcraft has 491 servers online in the US and Europe. Creutz estimates 4 million to 4.5 million of WOW's 10.3 million players can be found on those nearly 500 Western servers. However, the analyst did say that it is not clear whether the two games have similar player capacities per server, though he speculated that The Old Republic's is denser.

Based on preorder demand, Creutz reaffirmed his expectation of 2 million subscribers for The Old Republic by March 31, 2013.

Upcoming Patch To Smooth Out The Old Republic's Visuals, Gameplay

MMOs are traditionally ambitious endeavors, and Star Wars: The Old Republic is clearly no exception. One of the side effects of the genre's scale is that developers have a lot of post-launch tweaking and tuning. The Old Republic is getting an update soon, which will add anti-aliasing, a quartet of boss encounters, and loads of other adjustments.

Some changes are relatively minor, such as no longer classifying the Bounty Hunter class' Incendiary Missiles as AoE abilities. Some of the other 1.1 changes are more significant, such as the addition of four new bosses in Karagga's Palace. Check out the official patch notes for what's currently live on the game's public test servers.
