Both of them are from Good Makers, lets see the pros & cons:-

Processor: Both the motherboards supports almost same type of processors, but Gigabyte supports 1333 MHz FSB, so in this case Gigabyte is best.

Chipset: Abit uses P965/ICH8R Chipset & Gigabyte uses P35/ICH9 Chipset, in this cases Gigabyte is using the better one, so Gigabyte is Best.

Memory: Both the model use DDRII SDRAM & Max Capacity is 8 GB, but Gigabyte supports 1066 MHz too, so again Gigabyte is the best.

Expansion Slots: Gigabyte has 1 more PCI-Ex1 & PCI Slots than Abit, so here also Gigabyte rocks.

Internal I/O: Abit has 9 SATA 3 GB/s Connectors whereas Gigabyte has 4 Sata 3 GB/s Connectors, Abit has 10 USB ports & Gigabyte has 12 USB ports & Abit has 1 eSata Port, but Gigabyte has none, other Connectors are same, so here Abit got upper hand.

ami 2 ta board e use korsi. asole both of them was mine.... . if u r using Pentium Duel core go for Abit AB9 Pro.. it is a premium category board. Abit Guru panel is also included with this board. but remember rajiv.. Abit has no warranty but Gigabyte has.
