no even after SLI ing 2 1GB GTX560tis it will still use 1gB....Graphic cards dont share memory

i learned it the hard way......my 5870 is 1 GB and it struggles to keep up with heavy intensive games @ 1080p cuz it doesn't have enough Vram

the fact is IF you are buying a GPU now there's NO point in getting 1GB card ...its now history

tech is moving ahead so are games....so if you are able to get gtx560ti instead of getting it GET HD 6950 2GB version and you will be little more future proof i would have suggested Nvidia card but in that budget there ain't any 2gb nvidia cards

my friend is running 2GB sapphire HD6950 and he can run ...well almost anything but be honest he's still not able to MAAAX out few games

SLI? if SLI is the question then yeah 2*560ti 1gb> 1*2GB 6950 but then again 1GB VRAM on 560ti s will be limiting factor for XTREME gaming

atm....i don't think 1gb would be a limiting factor for HD gaming at 1080 res.....provided that you are running a 560ti sli/580...etc...........if your are planning to play games on a multi-monitor setup, then i think its essential to have gfx cards of 2gb memory........correct me if i'm wrong....

here's a memory usage showdown in games the guy is using MSI GTX580 3GB lightning Xtreme

well its usage is waaay over 1GB and everything single bit is MAAXXED out whether AA,MSAA,FSAA etc etc

look my point is why suggest a card that will effect in a long time run rather he can get a card for almost the same price(or a little bit more) that will be more futureproof and 2*6950=1 6990 running @830MHZ or even better!

we want hardwares that will last us long

well on your point of "future proof hardware.....n not getting obsolete any time soon"........in such case....its better to consider tahiti or kepler..........as these GPUs will be out very soon.......and i guess the variants from these GPUs will have 2gb memory as standard.......

both cards provide neck and neck performance, but the 6950 2GB should prove a little faster over the Ti. If you are lucky enough to get a reference 6950, you can almost have hopes for unlocking it to a 6970 which would be a quite a bit faster than the Ti.

But the originial question was about: 6950 2GB vs 560Ti 2GB, not SLI 560Ti 2GB! Yes of course, the SLI setup would be superior to a single GTX580 (and btw 580s come in only 1.5GB & 3GB configurations not 1.2GB)
