    Default Rust (alpha edition)

Rust is a multiplayer survival game with a deep base building system and crafting system. it's hard to describe the game actually, it's like Dayz, with Minecraft elements, except for that the building system is nowhere similar to minecraft really.

so... let's try to describe what you have to do when you start playing the game. it's set on post apocalyptic world where the government sent in an island with minimal level of radiation and some zombies. all maps are procedurally generated that means you won't see same maps again after you join a server, you have to cut some woods and mine some stones with your rock-thing. then you have to build a house in a suitable position. then you have to gather more woods and stones and metals, craft better tools using your resources, build furnaces to melt metal from metal ores and large stone walls to defend your base. yes the game has guns and c4s but you have to find the blueprints to craft those things. but be careful, as the game is mostly dependent on base building system and resource gathering, that means other people will always, always try and raid your base.

similar games- h1z1, ark survival.... dayz....
yes, i know how you feel, all the games of this particular genre are early access. :\

(zombies and radiation have been removed from the game temporarily)

    my initial review:

i havent been playing many things on rust yet, there are many things to discover so this is an initial review.

the game is awesome when you have friends, or you can team up with some other players, or even better if you join a big clan. but remember- trust no one.

bugs: the game has lot of bugs really, but fortunately the optimization isn't bad, if you get like 25 fps in ark survival on high settings you can manage to play rust in ultra 45 fps
about bugs, i am pretty sure the number of bugs in this game is significantly smaller than dayz. but, but it can be more upsetting because in dayz, you can only lose your inventory if you die, but in rust you can even lose your base(for which you invested hours and hours) because of glitches.

there are some glitches which havent been fixed since the release of alpha, which is upsetting. glitches like animals facing no collision when walking into walls or doors...

the game will crash from time to time, even taking screenshots by afterburner is difficult really.

graphics look pretty decent if you play on ultra.

gameplay wise it's awesome if you love this genre, but it's now totally based on pvp, because there are no zombies now.(the chopper feels like pvp honestly). its fun to build a big awesome base and own a particular point of interest on the map.

the map size is pretty big.... but it depends on server to server, i think most of the servers don't have big maps because of optimization problem. and even in 200 player server though the map is pretty big, it feels small coz you will always hear people running past you. it became more of an arcade than a survival.

servers: servers are full of hackers, specially official servers. if you play on rustopia community server, there are lot of hackers in community servers too but community servers have regular admins that means hackers can't do much bad before they get banned.

How many people are playing this? played the last month and this one on it like crazy. so if anyone wants to play it together later on lemme know. also does anyone have an idea how many people from BD are on rust? could rent a HK server and have it just for us that way prices for small maps are reall low atm.

just for BD? then you won't get any opponent

also hacking is a major problem.... thats why i prefer community servers coz without spectator admins its difficulty to identify hackers.

oh nevermind then..and do you still play it? im currently on facepunch manchester. if you want to start on any server lemme know. i just don't play modded much since the resources and gathering rates are insane and also the admin abuse. and yeah guess i'd have to open for others. but for a 50 people map it's only a few dollars a month so looked interesting.
