    Well I had the opportunity to compare both monitors side by side in Ryans. The build quality of Asus is far too superior. The LG monitor doesn't feel as sturdy(it shook heavily when I pushed the top of the panel a bit). Also the bezels and stand of LG monitor are glossy.

    Of course, afaik panels of both monitors are made by LG.

    if you get electric shock try turning it on without the signal cable if you don't get any shock that means your pc needs to be grounded properly, usually these monitors uses small laptop type 19V SMPS power supply unit which shouldn't give any shock at all.

    i get electric shock while touching the usb/audio ports too thoug, the power socket is connected to two pin wall-socket... this is the first time i experienced shock on a monitor! :/

    USB/Audio port of your mobo? That's pretty normal as you are saying you got a 2 pin plug. Well my headphone gives me electric shock

    not much really, you need to somehow connect it to the ground or earth via a conductor or there is one more way but might not always work properly.
