Default Help - First time pc build!

    Hi!!

My friend told me this is the best place to get good opinions about your setup before buying it so really wanted to ask here too before going ahead with the purchase. Any help is very appreciated.

This is the list i got from some browsing, so is this okay? it's from pc part picker so i'll just copy paste the text here.

    CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($314.99 @ Directron)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($19.98 @ OutletPC)
    Motherboard: Asus H170-PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($111.48 @ Amazon)
    Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($45.99 @ Newegg)
    Storage: PNY CS2111 480GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($156.00 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 980 4GB STRIX Video Card ($479.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: NZXT H440 (White/Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($99.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA GS 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($69.99 @ NCIX US)
    Total: $1298.41

My budget is 1150€ (it's around 1300$ i think) cannot exceed it at all :/ a relative of mine will visit the states soon so i'll have him bring all these back! So do you think it's good for the budget?

I don't play many pc intensive titles and almost no AAA game, only just MMO's my old pc was working but it died so finally upgrading. other than playing mmo's i'll just use it for shows and internet browsing. and i don't want to upgrade for atleast the next 3-4 years.

And for the monitor i already have one, and don't know the exact model number but it's 1440p and from BenQ.

Do you have a spare HDD? or just going with that? anyways for that price and im assuming you prefer having SSD and the case, then yes rest of the components are alright and set to go. good overall

For the Storage, I'd rather suggest you get Kingston or Sandisk simply because I'm not sure how good PNY is with their SSDs, and the price is around the same so no problem there. Also if you don't have a spare HDD then try to get a TB as you might need the storage in future.

Other than this everything is really good, also rather than just searching up on PCPartPicker, try to search for deals on Newegg, amazon, NCIX, Tigerdirect and other similar shops so that'd reduce your costs. I've never took/brought a PC to/from abroad but given that you are bringing so many things together, it's going to be heavy an your relative might need to pay for carrying extra weight so do note that.

so you are not bengali/bangladeshi? :o

so u are getting a 980 for only 480$? that sounds like quite a good deal

can you find r9 fury at same price point? r9 fury is better than 980 in both dx11 and dx12, but 980 isnt bad, you can choose 980 over fury because of various reasons including driver support

my dad's full bengali but went to russia for studies then married my mom who is lithuanian so im half! i've lived most of my life in lithuania though went to Dhaka 5 times so far! thanks for the suggestion. i've looked into it and the cheapest r9 fury is "Sapphire's Tri X" version and it costs 555$ so it is over my budget :/ and the 980 is cheap because of a 30$ rebate. that's the best i could get in that budget, are there any other 480$ ones out there i should get?

Thanks! i just read 2 articles about them, it just said PNY has an endurance of 600TB while samsung's evo has 320TB, so went with that but im not sure what that endurance in SSD means. on sites it just has 4 stars, should i take it off then?

And pc part picker, lets you choose deals from retailers from all the sites you mentioned, maybe it's a new update? but these were the cheapest i could get is there any other site i should look into? and thankyou i'll look into it, he already knows it'll weigh a bit so has a spare cardboard box for it to seal and take it with him hopefully it's enough!

Truth be told, Fury sucks butt at 1080p gaming, at DX12 it actually competes almost well against 980 Ti at some point especially at 4k

It's over my budget so not sure if i can get it :/ after further asking around everyone's telling me to wait for pasqal is that a good idea? for the meantime a 270$ r9 390 from powercolor is being suggested and that'd save me 200$ bringing the cost to 1100$ but i've never even heard of that company or that card, is it good and not some bad chinese thing?

and btw lithuania and russia's different! we were just under the same USSR but other than that it's as different as bangladesh is to india

I know I googled Lithuania is a different country, was under Soviet Union control until it's fallout. I was just wondering about Russian girls. As for Pascal, unless you're gaming 4k there's no point to having HBM 2.0 I mean even the R9 390X is 8gb cause of 4k gaming. Ridiculous

powercolor aint terrible. and 390 is totally different from 980gtx, but price/performance ratio of a r9 390 priced at 270$ will be double the price/perf ratio of a 980 at 480$. but the thing is... if you want better frame rate you should go for 980.
most of the games you play= 390 is more than enough.

270$ for a 390 is an amazing deal

most of the games you play= 390 is more than enough.

270$ for a 390 is an amazing deal
Here are lightshots of the prices : http://prntscr.com/8pdhkf and http://prntscr.com/8pdiii

maximum i can spend is 490$, but if one of the lower priced ones do the job then i will just try that i think, thanks! and i don't understand framerates so anything is okay as long as it does not stutter/crash or look very bad. thanks!

Oh i'll just update it in 2years when prices lower down maybe and hmm sort of us lithuanian girls look similar to north russian ones i think. Both slavic kind skinny, not as tall as nordic, lightbrown/darkblonde hair instead of black or golden.

Oh nice to know you're female and interested in gaming rigs, it's better to upgrade GPUs within 2 year marks. Most enthusiasts do that, but for now I don't think Nvidia's Maxwell is that future proof, their DX12 performance has been lukewarm especially with their so called Async compute power. I think you should go for two R9 380s if you can, it's GCN 1.2 latest gen with lossless delta compression to reduce memory bandwidth consumption and better tessellation and performance wise goes head to head against GTX 980 Ti. It's sad AMD didn't release any high end GCN 1.2 card for GDDR5 instead of R9 Fury HBM memory

Not an enthusiast. it's embarassing but i didn't understand half of what you said other than getting 2 380's. my current games can be played wit ha 950 or 960 i think but i don't like changing much in the pc since i don't know how to assemble so just hoping i don't need to upgrade for some time. and why does the gender matter? is it rare in BD? when i went to dhaka's comicon there were lots of girls there too!

comicon is for comic fans not video gamers actually... and its kinda rare for bengali girl to play video games but things will probably change, because of candy crush or clash of clans mostly :v

about the upgrade just take the 390 you wont need to upgrade for a long time... at least thats what i think

If your going to just play mmorpgs then a 980 is more than adequate.(It's a bit of an overkill actually xD)

Most mmorpgs are not really demanding games and have moderate system requirements so if u do get a 980 you will be maxing out all of those games with absolute ease.

You could actually play AAA games and with decent settings too!(Some games even at 1440p!)

    Very nice first build!

(I'm a noob at building PCs too xD)

I am not sure you need a cooler with a locked CPU unless i7 6700 exceeds 65'c at full load, in which case your pick is alright. The other picks are pretty spot on except for the storage. I have never heard of PNY SSD before until now. It's better to be on the safe side and get Samsung/Intel instead. As for rebates, take note that rebates at times do not go through.
