Respect To C and C++
Respect To C and C++
Honestly, there's a lot other example like this...
it's not about how hard u work or how intelligent u are
it's all about marketing and promoting urself
It is different perspective. "Dennis" did not make big public scene to show what he has created. Probably only programmers know about him (maybe not everyone). On the other hand "Steve" is known to everyone by public viewing of his work. So it is normal to see such thing but yeah I also hope that Dennis get more recognition for his work.
Dennis does deserve recognition on a normal level like Gates, i mean C and C++ are the reasons for recent average computer apps.Steve on the other hand i feel like he is controversial, taking competition into lot of things but kudos for Pixar and i series.Still as long as people see this and read it, Dennis will get recognition, thanks to users and fans who cared
Showing respect to Dennis Ritchie is one thing and comparing his death to Steve 's is another. I saw a few wannabes who shared this on FB because they were desperate to show others thru their facebook walls that they were different.
I don 't know your cause, but there are other ways to show respect to Dennis Ritchie instead of sharing this image. This is probably the most stupid way to show respect to Ritchie. There are many other people in this world who silently passed away and yet have had more contributions than both Steve and Ritchie, but it certainly doesn 't imply that we put up a picture with a heading 'ATTENTION' and underneath put 'Without Steve there would.......' but 'without XXXXX there would have been no ........', to show them respect. This is very lame actually.
Steve Jobs was not famous for his inventions, he was famous for how he implemented things and put them to use. Dennis Ritchie might have invented C and C++, but was never known by mass people because he certainly was not good at what Steve was. I doubt you yourself knew Ritchie before you came across this picture on your FB homepage.

If it weren't for steve jobs then you wouldn't have been posting this from your PERSONAL COMPUTER. Steve Jobs changed eveything from your desks with iMacs to your pockets with iPhones...
Dennis deserves respect, but steve is not just 'anyone'. He is what people want to be.
And another thing Dennis's work had an effect on Programmers and geeks like you and me. On the other hand steve jobs work had an effect on everyone. Talk about Dennis, most even don't know what is C/C++..!
AND LETS BE PEACEFUL, NOT FIGHT OVER THIS....
