Default Xbox 360 dashboard update goes live Dec 6....

Microsoft‘s new Xbox 360 dashboard, integrating Kinect into navigation and bringing the UI in line with Windows Phone and Windows 8, will hit consoles on December 6, the company has announced. At that point, gamers will be able to use their Kinect to control the Xbox via voice and gestures, as well as share content on Facebook.

There’s also cloud storage for Game Saves and Xbox LIVE Profiles, together with a new social broadcasting feature called Beacons. YouTube and Bing access will also be integrated, the latter supporting voice search for movies, music, and other content on the console.
In addition to the revamped interface, Microsoft is promising new multimedia content – including music and movies, as well as live TV access – that will be streamed direct to the console. The refreshed Xbox 360 dashboard began rolling out to beta testers back on November 10.

I've said it before, LT+2.0 korle purno game khela jabe, provided you patch the ISO with new AP 2.5 challenge data. The problem is not with LT+ 2.0, the reason for old AP 2.5 games not running is because the new dash contains a new dae.bin file, which results in old ISOs failing the AP 2.5 response challenge.

Running AP 2.5 games through ABGX, and burning the resulting image file, will solve your problem.

This will no longer be required once consoles are flashed with LT 3.0. You will be able to play all games that have come out till now.

Tour The Xbox 360's New Dashboard

Microsoft is not afraid to shake things up when it comes to the Xbox 360's user interface. An update brings a fresh look to your 360 this Tuesday, bringing big changes to the way you navigate the console.

This video tour by Gamesradar highlights the big changes to the UI. The biggest differences I can notice include the menu layout, achievement score organization, the bing search function, and cloud saving. While being able to search for anything available on the 360 by entering a single word is neat for finding games quickly, I'm more interested in the cloud save functionality.

I'm someone who routinely loads my 360 profile onto a USB to bring to a friend's house, then 99 percent of the time forgets it and has to spend time recovering the stupid thing when I get home (if I can remember my blasted Windows Live ID). This cloud save option allows you to toss your profile into the ether for easy access on any friend's 360 with an internet connection. Sony loyalists have to pay for a PlayStation Plus account to enjoy that sort of convenience, so enjoy it!

Xbox 360 Dashboard Update Delayed Slightly

Microsoft said it had to delay releasing the new Xbox 360 dashboard update until later today.

Xbox Live's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb confirmed the delay saying, "The timing for Xbox 360 dashboard update has been slightly delayed. We are still working to get the release out. Stay tuned, we’ll have an update this afternoon on when it will begin rolling out."

The update will add a number of new features, including cloud storage for game saves and Live profiles and integrated voice and gesture controls across the dashboard and in apps. It was originally scheduled to go live this morning.

i'm totally not a techie, so...should i be worried? should i not hold off on downloading this, or will it render some of my games unplayable again? FYI, i got my 360 reflashed (not sure to what, i guess AP2.5 or maybe 3) a couple of months ago so that i could play Gears 3 and the games that were released after (assassin's creed, arkham city, BF3, MW3, skyrim, saints row 3 all work if that's a clue).
wait - you can get on Live from BD? WTF? why did everyone tell me that's impossible? OMFG - all the missed racism, homophobia, tea-bagging and gloating! it's like i never had a 360 at all
