In BD 10 mbps is a lot. I know we could have got much faster speed but then again this is reality. To some people even 2 mbps is really fast in BD. I have probably the poorest idea of such things but why does the govt. charge so much when they dream of so called "digital Bangladesh" ?
recently govt 'reduced' the price of b/w... but in reality most isp cant buy 10gbps... so we still have previous b/w pricing as last year
also, there are isp price fixing syndicates in many places in Dhaka.

10mbps is still preety bad though, yeah it's a lot here but it really shouldn't be. most 3rd world countries now do have around 10-20mbps as a normal speed now (aside from some in africa). and the digital bangladesh thing is just another lie i guess since we have only protectionist policies so far that don't allow foreign businesses to function here properly. our government thinks the companies have to be bengali there's no point increasing infrastructure. Main reason is well since they don't want profits to go abroad, if they stick with these we'll just get left behind.
Poor countries like Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Jordan, Egypt are all getting far ahead since they allowed foreign investment to get in, but not here. India's TATA even bought Teleglobe and became a tier1 network themselves so we're just getting more and more behind. Meanwhile our government plans on stealing from foreigners basically, like the koreans bought a huge amount of land in savar for industries, they used a part of it for garments, and are thinking of making a car plant for the future but our govt thinks that since the land is idle and not being used, they should just illegaly seize it from them. These type of thieving childish behaviour does not attract foreign investment at all. If we get a competent leader you can easily get the 10mbps speed you want in less than 3 years.
