    What was shown in the article is possible for quite a while now, it's an external GPU, makes sense for extra power, but not really for portability which is what a Gaming Laptop is only worth for. Alienware also sell such thing as far as I've heard.

    However, Nvidia recently announced that a desktop grade GPU can now be used INSIDE a Laptop, so it's not like the 9xxM GPU, it the real thing like used in graphics cards in desktops. The GTX 980 is coming to Gaming laptops soon.
