    XNA, ew.

You can just use GTKRadiant to make maps and such and for game engine, just use an open-source. Add some sprites, NPCs, commands, and it should be done in a year max.

.... was supposed to make an FPS game wid my fried back in 7th grade... we used: Milkshape 3D (for making models), irrlicht for the main game. My friend was the programmer, i was the designer, but we did mostly both, 1/4th way through the production... he left for England nd i just lost interest... mite start all over again... too bad the files were in my other HD .

btw, i still have the pokemon type game makers: toolkit2, rpg2003, nd customCustom doesnt need any programming knowledge, toolkit2 needs a bit. nd yeah, i know all the softs weve used are ancient compared what u saibal use...

(tell me if u wanna use any one of these, i cud upload em)

FPS games are rather difficult to make because of, and not limited to: Hitboxes, recoil value, jump glitches (you'll know what I mean if you are in the development of an FPS), and etc. If you have a whole company working, then it's pretty much a breeze, but a 2 people project? Could take years.

Lol, Pokemon is all sprites. The only tedious part of making it is that you have to make so many maps, which means editing "step-by-step" functions and so much more. It's a real ¤¤¤¤¤ to make a decent graphics game.

OHHHH and let's not forget security. People would be making games all the time but they have no decent security for anti-hacks. You'd need a whole team to make a universal one, like GameGuard, XTrap (I have the source for it if anyone wants) etc etc. People pay a lot of money to buy the license, estimating from the mid-hundreds for a noob one to thousands, maybe even $10,000 for a universal, efficient one.
